Changing Business Name?

Now that my business is starting to take off, I want something a little more professional sounding for a permanent business name than Face Painting by Pam. I am almost out of business cards so I thought now would be the time to make the change. How difficult is it to get people to know you by your new name once you have already started under another one. I imagine I will find a way to link old sites to new ones and I have to change my banners and such. I just wanted to know your experience if you have done this.

I have not changed my name, but I am running low on business cards.
This IS the perfect time to change my name.
Currently, my website is lisaleyes.com.
What do you think about changing it to ShannonFennell.Lisa.com?
I think I would get a lot more traffic through my website!!

I do realize that my advice is NEVER helpful.

I recently changed my business name and it was a headache and a half. After everything was done I would say it was worth every minute I put into it. I love my Purple monkey paints!

So what about "Smiletime"?

I am currently just doing business as Face Painting by Pam. Smiletime is an episode of Angel that I love where he turns into a puppet....not my business name. I am going to be called DePace's Faces. Luckily my last name rhymes with face..so it works and my daughter wants to start working with me, so the name included us both.
