Those smoothie blenders...
Has anyone had good results using them with anything other than Starblends? I'm having trouble with my current sponges as the coverage just isn't smooth. I'd be using them with Tag paint.
Thanks

It might be the color itself...some colors are just more opaque than others. What kind of sponges are you using...and are your sponges too wet?

I can't remember what brand they are - but they are proper face painting sponges. I just thought the smoothie might allow me to get a more precise and smooth finish.

Think someone posted that they would soak up lots of paint and be a pain to clean.

I can't keep a smoothy blender longer than a couple of weeks. They tear and the plastic pokes through, especially if you get them wet. Try lolly pop blenders, they aren pretty good and clean up better. I would also order one of every type of sponge and try them to see what you like the most. It took me a year or more before I settled on snaz sponges. There are tons out there. Try tack sponges from horse suppliers too, they are a cheep alternative.

What I use are a compact type applicator like you would find in a pressed powder makeup. You can buy a 3 pack in Wally world for around 2 fifty.

Are you dragging your sponges thus causing streaking? If so pouncing will provide better, smoother coverage.

Re: Those smoothie blenders...
Thanks for the advice - might skip the smoothie sponges and just work on my technique.
