How to solicit at business (kids nights etc)

I see so many people getting great jobs and I was wondering how(when i am ready) to go about selling my services or soliciting for jobs at places other than local advertising, word of mouth. Does anyone have a form letter that they could share. (I'm in Az so I won't compete with many of you)

I currently sell products at craft shows and tried to get the approval at my last 2 shows but one already had a face painter and the other said they were only accepting actual craft items and it was not that type of venue. Not sure why though - it was at the state zoo. Sigh - Oh well. I have yet to do a face show and I'm really not ready so I guess more time to practice.

I was reading all the posts that rave about you and was googeling and got side tracked... anyway I was looking for your pages.
Gotta wait a couple weeks for hubbys first paycheck - He was out of work for 3 months so just started his job. I will go look and make a wish list to go with my paint wish list
