If you left off the antlers and red nose and outlined the wings with a frosting-like outline it would be a gingerbread butterfly... get to work, Denise and design me one, will ya?!

This was last year after FP'ing for 2 months. These were some designs, thanks to FPF, SF & some jewelry I liked. BTW, thanks to Denise Cold, I now label all pics going into my inspiration folder w/original artists name so I can credit them later. The candy cane reindeer horns are Heather's from Silly Farm, Think the fast Holly is GinaW, Santa & Snowman are mine but don't remember who inspired the holly mask.
Here's one grandchild

I painted this on wood years ago.

A fast face for a long line, I'm told she wore it to school the next day.

Don't know who inspired this, but can do much better swirls now. PRACTICE!!!!

It's pretty simple, but I like it. Of course, the glitter barely shows up in the photo...

The wings are Starblends, as were the white and red on the Santa skull.

Diane, cute gumdrops...but you always knew I liked your gumdrops! LOL!

I like it and I actually love that you used Starblends of course. I got paint in my eye with sponging if you can believe it! Smile I'm trying a red and white striped edge and it looks cute but having a hard time doing something with the middle so I love yours.

Not my gumdrop buttons! hehehe!
Thanks. It came out just how it looked in my head, so that makes me happy. Smile

The snow piled on it was a last minute impulse. It went from "hmm. I like it." to "OOOOO! me likey!"

Diane, love the snow on your gingerbread fly. Can't believe that's Starblend. I bought a dk brown for Halloween. Will have to use Denise's blending technique w/white for those wings. It certainly worked for Zombie's & Frankenstein. Grinchmas, here I come!

I used light cocoa for the outer part of the wing, then the custom ivory i made in the corner of the eye. I blended them so they look very smooth together.
I have learned that Starblends blend better when you do the dark color first, then blend the lighter one into it. That's the opposite from blending paint, at least, for me...

Diane, wasn't sure what color to get for brown. Wish I'd gotten the cocoa. Good point to bring up re: blending light Starblend onto dk. I found that out doing my husband's Frankenweenie face (he cooked 10/31). I can blend on my smoothie for shading, but you're right. On the face, darker shade 1st.
