Phew I'm beat! Building a new Travelling studio Empty Phew I'm beat! Building a new Travelling studio

So... wanting to get more serious about doing shows, parties etc- and NOT wanting to have to carry in a lot of stuff BUT wanting the ability to bring the kitchen sink if I WANT to.... I am finally building my mobile set up.

Basically, an upright cabinet with detatchable case. The case was sized to hold the metal presentation boxes I use to put my paints in, as well as the brush boxes I carry, along with space for ice packs when out in Florida heat.

A cabinet of the same dimentions, but taller, holds my co2 tank, hoses, air brushes, paint, cloth, floor cover etc.

A "table top" attaches to this cabinet and off to the side and has two legs to support the other end, giving me a 2 foot by 3 foot table top to work on WITH a plexiglass shield that keeps anyone from playing with my stuff.

This entire cabinet is attached to a hand truck. When put away, the case attaches to the top of the cabinet, the table top if flat against the front, the legs are inserted in holes to extend the hand truck base, so now I can put my fat max in this extention, bungee cord it, and off I go.

It's hard to picture I am sure but as soon as it is done I will take photo's. The cabinet also has room for extra paints, sponges and brushes, and first aide kit. I'm ready!

Did that a couple years ago. Was bored one day, had sledge hammer... reset the kitchen to "zero" like There was no ceiling, and no walls.... Built birch cabinets from scratch.

I wont be able to work on it again until this weekend. As it stands... it's about 50% done. Everything is assembled and Vinyl has been applied. Need to put hinges on doors, get hardware, make the table portion.

If it's not done this weekend, it will be the following... BUT then, we'll see. Depression has been really bad lately, so sometimes I can;t get anything done.

Can't wait to see the pics, Dean!!!

Made me think...wouldn't it be a great business to take an old food truck (like with that big open window) and be a "face painter on the go". No more lugging your stuff from your car to your house and back, no more tents at festivals and outdoor parties...just drive up anywhere, open your window and let the lines form? Sigh...if I had money, I think I'd try it!!!!

I've also thought about something similar like putting a greenhouseish attachment on a rolling trailer, set up would consist of backing it into place, and if you had power available at a fair, it could have heat and AC!

Ok the main box is covered in vinly now, doors attached etc... Next weekend I will get the table top part made, and interior painted, maybe the metal trim work added... So. Hopefully pics in a week. Definitely the week after!
