how to manage time for fp and balloons
So I have a party for fp and she wants balloons also i already charge $100 for 2 hrs and then i would add an extra $25 per hour per service.but i cant paint 20 kids and do 20 balloons in 2hrs.. any suggestions? i kinda wanna do the balloons when i get there.
Re: how to manage time for fp and balloons
Do whichever you prefer first if you can manage (boys usually want balloons first, while girls opt for FP if given a choice). If you keep everything simple, you can do it! (I usually explain this to the client, and most would rather go simple, than for the wow factor.)
Re: how to manage time for fp and balloons
Thanks!! another question,(theres always another question) would you suggest charging another hour for the balloons instead of $25 per service per hour? dose that make sense?
Re: how to manage time for fp and balloons
When asked to do FP and Balloons, I usually paint the child then make them a balloon. that way I don't miss anyone and they aren't coming back over and over because they broke the balloon or want it fixed because they untwisted it. It works pretty good and some kids choose not to get painted, just want a balloon anyway.
Re: how to manage time for fp and balloons
nice! do you think my time frame is reasonable that way or should i add a half hour to one hour? oh my gosh my head hurts trying to figure out this charging thing..more and more my 6 year old son's idea of EVERYTHING is life should be free or $1!!
Re: how to manage time for fp and balloons
lol..you can prob. do it if you keep your designs simple for both.
Re: how to manage time for fp and balloons
I charge per hour... I can paint 20 kids per hour and twist 20 balloons per hour. I do all the painting first, then all the balloons at the end... then run before they all start popping and asking for repairs that will just take up more of your time and they'll try to cut in line for "just a fix"
Re: how to manage time for fp and balloons
I second Perry! Do the balloons last so you aren't interrupted while face painting to fix them or make another. I would be comfortable painting and twisting for 20 kids in 2 hours. Perhaps you want to time how fast you can make your balloon options so you know if you will need more time. Another option would be after painting everyone, look at how much time you have left and only offer faster balloon options if time is running short. If you have a lot of time left, offer more complicated balloon options.

Re: how to manage time for fp and balloons
So i was going to tell my client my regular price for my fp $100 for two hours then as an extra service $50 for the balloons and if i don't make it in time give her a free 30 min to finish..only because i don't know how it's going to go and this is my first time ballooning. So my total would be $150 for 2.5 hours of face painting and balloons..or maybe $175 for the 2.5 for both?(that just popped in my head)
