New to the forum!!
Hello Everyone,
My name is Kristin! Thank you for having me.
I have been an artist all my life but am just now getting into facepainting, and i have to say i love it, i am addicted. lol
I live in western ny, married with a 2yr. old son. We have two boston terriers and three fish tanks with a total of 12 discus fish. ( If you dont know what a discus fish is, look it up, they are beautiful)
Anyway, I have been considering starting to do partys and festivals, but i would like others like me to look at my work and let me know what you think. I would like to know if you guys think i am ready!!! Remember I have only been facepainting for about a week now. I am going to the gallary now to make an album. I know i will have lots of questions.
Any suggestions or tips would be helpful as well.
Thanks everyone, I am looking forward to meeting all of you, we have lots to talk about. lol

Re: New to the forum!!
You are off to a stellar start with those designs! You could totally go do some parties and stuff with that. Make sure you've got the basic designs (I can see you have butterfly), be sure to also have a tiger, puppy, spiderman... and a few others that you just like doing and you'll be fine.

Re: New to the forum!!
looks good.. since you're an artist, I would just suggest doodling. Best kind of practice in my opinion.
Re: New to the forum!!
Welcome to the Forum! I would say you are well on your way!!! You certainly seem productive and practice is one of the best ways to improve! That and a great community of awesome people - ha ha ha - like this one!!!
If you can do these faces in 5 to 8 minutes - you are ready to work. Birthdays are a great place to start as they are a little more intimate and forgiving. Restaurants are good "in the trenches" places to get faster and dealing with the larger crowds and impatience and lines that inevitably go along with that.
Your color is good. Your lines are strong! The symmetry pretty good, and the swirls great! You are far ahead from many beginners! My only constructive add would be to practice your teardrops - this may be the brush or your technique.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXFv14TjRUk&feature=player_profilepage

Have fun!!! AND LOVE THE ROBOT!!! CUTE CUTE CUTE! I will be "borrowing" for my 3 yo son who is crazy for robots!
p.s. If Ashley Pickin did a teardrop tutorial I bet it would get 500 hits within a month!!!

Re: New to the forum!!
wyndyo,
thanks you for the advice, i have been having trouble with my teardrops, i just cant seem to get them perfect yet, still trying though. And i have problems using white paint... I dont know why, but it does not seem to load as well as the other colors and never goes on the way i want it to. Is white diffrent than the other colors for some reason, do i need to use it diffrently???? hope thats not a stupid question.
And i am glad you like the robot, he is my husbands favorite.

Re: New to the forum!!
It may be the "brand" of white too... Kristin. If it is Snaz or Paradise you may not get the crisp white you are seeing in other's work.
Keep playing and don't be hard on yourself you are doing great!!!! I did a robot on my arm in the car on the way to IKEA - you inspired me! (hubby was driving for those who might try to judge me... )
