Not liking my new display boards

SO I decided to shamelessly copy Denise and Linda and make display boards for my upcoming charity event. I wanted them to be fast and quick designs. Normally I paint up each of my kids and snap a pic, wash their face paint again snap a pic I repeat for three times. Well I thought I'd be smart and just make a board because my daughter is getting older and getting teased if she happens to be seen in public with face paint on.

I spent ALL day on my boards and I have to say I'm not too happy with my designs. Some of them are just copies of Denise's They so do not look as good. Ugh. I would so rather just paint on my kids. But I do not have enough time this week with work and after school activities. These will have to do.

Face paint is a living art. It NEVER looks as astonishing in photography as it does in real life. The beauty of using DeniseBoards is that when you do the actual artwork on the child's face.... it will be FABULOUS, compared to the flat board.

make sue you take pictures of the people you paint so you can show your real talent on the board---just remember to ask permission to post the picture.

I was just thinking.... if anyone ever needed to use any of my photos for their board because you are short for time you have my permission. As long as you're using them solely for your menu board and can paint the design yourself - then why not?

I'm thinking my kids might be forced to be painted tonight.

Well, now I want to see a picture to see if you are just being too critical. Did you see Diane's and Shawna D's boards. Those faces are pretty fabulous too.

Okay, I think I saw Shawna's I don't think I saw Diane's. I painted mine on regular poster board because I want to put mine in frames like Linda did. It's supposed to rain on Saturday. Fun fun... I painted all but 4 of the boys faces on my son tonight and was painting on my daughter until she got grounded for life for losing her jacket. I swear I am NOT buying that child another winter jacket.
Anyway I added a Pikachu and a Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtle..the TMNT was the hardest boy face (forehead) to paint. The stupid green starblend. I need a starblend fairy. (I can't spend anymore clothes money. LOL)

Hi Angela, Your boards look fine to me and remember we are our worst critics.. I just did a new board for hopefully "quick" designs since my other board had full faces and was a hit with the kids, but not the mom paying for the extra hour..
Someone on here recommended these wonderful foam faces. Just paint your design on them.. If I knew how to post a pic with my iphone i would show you a pic..

I like them... I think painting an actual eye will help your board

I was just going to say that. The eyes made a huge difference on mine. I think I have a picture close up that I took for someone. They are really simple. Other than that...they look really good.

Denise, your boards are such an inspiration, also when it comes to the variety to offer! I have tried the animals on your animal board on my kids, but I cannot seem to make the one-stroke doggie work, mine just does not look like a dog!

LOL I just realized in the background of my son's picture...well you can see Denise's board and the face paint forum....no I'm not addicted. Ha ha ha.

So true! That's what you'd see at my house. Love the Pikacu, it's so bright and attention getting....I bet that would be popular. Everyone loves the Angry Bird mask even if they don't get end up choosing it, they are still drawn in by it.

I just have to fix the TMNT design. it ends up being too smooshed on his forehead. I think I saw the Pikachu on Emily Hardin's page maybe? It was super cute and I knew immediately my Brandt would love it!
