I do have a small "appetizer" palette from Wolfe, so I might try those colours. If they work well, then....eep....I might have to purchase some more Wolfe.

I don't want to buy more paints! I used up all my spare money! Laughing

And I'm not scary! I'm a kind, compassion, caring....um....bleeding green skull.

I AM! Stop smirking up there at the back! Wink

Hi all:

Kammy _ I love your sugar skull and wuppies!! beautiful and adorable!

Dartiegirl - your cats are great!! Thanks for the inspiration.

Valerie - thanks I love peacocks! I'm loving my split cakes but really want to be doing more painting especially now I have my practice head! Next to my dfx palettes is mineral makeup that's super glittery. It's true I am a very busy gal! Nope, not Hawaiian just my name is and I love to give and receive Hawaiian bodywork/massage.

Tonight's a big night for me; I'm getting together with friends and practicing!!

Lacy, I love your butterfly! I think I will try one like that, if you don't mind. I'm inspired cat Oh! and your glitter showed up in that pix!! kinda rare for that to happen...looks nice!

Daphne, I don't know Boots either (kids too old for Dora Wink ) but your face is so cute! Nice job on your eyes and I love that little 'topknot.' Smile

Leilani, beautiful hummingbirds and flowers! Hope you had a lot of fun out tonight practicing your painting....have any pics to post??

Kammy, what can I say?? You just do one great painting after another! Looks like you are getting lots of practice in for your Friday gig! Is that Matt again??
When I read your comment: And I'm not scary! I'm a kind, compassion, caring....um....bleeding green skull. It reminded me when my kids were little and they got in trouble...and were disgruntled with me, I would tell them "I'm just a monster in a mama suit" and they would laugh. I guess I could have painted my face then and said I was just a monster all the way through! clown btw, I hope to post a picture of my kit soon, you little magpie!

Valerie, I'm honored i inspired you! Thank you so much for that compliment!

Daphne, I know boots well as my daughter is almost 3 and loves him hehe, I think it looks great, the only thing i might add is a big pink area around the nose and mouth. When ever i think of boots i picture that for some reason hehe. Great work!

Daphne - I must be the only mama in the world who doesn't watch Dora. Laughing Thanks for the explanation. Smile

Lacey - I love your butterfly! It's quite an unusual, refreshing style with its delicate, simple line work and the way you've used the bling. Really pretty!

Valerie - thank you so much for your words, what a lovely thing to say! The two faces above took me AGES, but once I've painted a design once, it's much faster in the future. Yes, that's Matt under the Frankie mask. He actually laid down with his head on a pillow while I painted it, and the angle was really difficult to work with. As for the comment you used to use with your kids, it made me laugh too! I'll have to remember that one when Cian's in a bad mood with me! Laughing

Today, I really should paint a dragon, given that it's the challenge for this week and I haven't done it yet. I feel like I'm late for class. Wink

Mermaid is cute, cute and your hubby makes a nice cheetah. I like using my old gold tag for cheetah. What gold did you use?

Thanks facesbybelle, that pearl teal is my absolute favorite, it is TAG. The cheetah gold is TAG too, the pearl gold, not the old gold. I love the look of the old gold though, may get that next time.

Love all your faces! Your pearl teal kitty is so nice (cute little heart nose!) and I like your rainbow tiger. That mermaid one is very nice, don't think I've seen one like that. Nice cheetah face on husband too. Sweet of him to let you paint him!

Thanks Valerie, yes hubby is very sweet, and quite an enabler! He bought me a practise head (probably so I'd stop harassing him to use his face!) but I'm too nervous to paint on it yet as I'm worried I'll stain it. No And Headwina is so pretty!

Kammy, I don't want you to be left out from having a twin (i never had a sister, its nice to think I have a twin out there!) how about we all change our avatars to be something all the same, so we can be triplets, or quadruplets, or quintuplets.... Any ideas? I love you

LOL, that's a cool idea! All the pros will be shaking their heads, thinking "Gah, it's those damn crazy newbies again, flooding our boards with this avatar!!!"

I'm in. How about....um...something Halloweeny? Or something fun like a Butterflyger? Smile We could always just paint "NOOOOOOB!" on our foreheads! Laughing I'm laughing out loud at that last (non-serious!) idea...

I guess I could just take a short cut, and paint myself like you and Valerie. Smile

I don't have a blood sister, but my beautiful friend and I call each other sister. We live about 10 minutes' walk from each other and we're in and out of each others' lives and apartments all the time - though not so much right now as she's a very talented dancer and is performing or rehearsing constantly! She's coming over today and says she'll let me paint her. She has waist-length black dreadlocks and a really striking face, so I can't wait! I'm thinking she'd make an amazing sugar skull.

What a beautiful spider, Kammy! I love the shape, legs, body and colors & highlights! I think it looks great as is!!

If you had more time on it and wanted it; I could also imagine it as asymmetrical with more web on once side or as a momma spider with a baby spider in a bigger web somewhere:)

We're off to the Pumpkin Patch today and the kids wanted to look the part.
These are my very first pumpkin masks.

My daughter

My son wanted the same as his sister so i added some spiders and not as many vines to make it more boyish.

Lacy, your children are so adorable in their masks! Smile Great job!! can't believe they are your first! cyclops did you do other kinds of painting before you took up fp? You must be in Northern California (or Baja Oregon as I like to call it Wink ) judging from the trees in the background. Did you have a nice time at the pumpkin patch?

Dartiegirl & Kammy, we are just three sisterless girls! (at least we didn't have to fight over room space, makeup and clothes as teens! Wink ) That would be so funny to have all of us new ones do the same face periodicly. I'm Not into creepy tho affraid so you go ahead for this 'round' if you like Wink , since it IS the time of creepy, Your Excellent creepy spider, Kammy, is a perfect tho! I don't know how you do it with your vision problems!! Especially such detail up on your forehead! I have pretty good vision (just 'over the counter' glasses to read) but have so much trouble painting my own face...maybe I'm just crazy tho geek
Matt is being such a good sport about the painting...maybe you can have him lay his head on your lap to paint any like that again? Sleep Dartiegirl, your husband is a good sport too! and generious to get you a practice head...of course, he might have that ulterior motive you mentioned Laughing

Leilani, any pictures to share from last night???

Nice to see you back Shadow! Excellent job on that snarling tiger face. It always amazes me, and especially shows up on the half faces, how transformed a face can be by face painting!

LoveAllYourArt had her first gig and posted in the newbie section. Hope everyone will take a look and give our fellow newbie support. cat

We had a BLAST at the pumpkin patch! The pumpkin patch that is close to Sacramento is were we go, it's like a mini theme park. It's HUGE. Train rides, hey rides, zip lines, you name it lol.

Shadow- LOVE that tiger, like valerie said the snarling mouth is amazing on it!
