This is an okay review. I could not help myself when I saw the wonder pallet at silly farm. Yes, an impuse buy. Friday is free shipping. The stars were aligned....

It is what is described on the website. The only difference with mine is in place of the 6 well container, silly farm sent me a 13 well container. Six have the split colors and the rest are empty. (YEAH!)

The DVD that comes with it shows basic beginner uses. Just alright.

The paints are of okay consistance however I did need to store them in the refrigerator during the summer to keep them from getting to mushy.

I am happy with the purchase.

Positives:
1. you get exactly what is advertised - 6 split colors
2. quality is average on the okay side - good for brush designs

Negitives:
1. gets mushy if in heat to long, paint will stick to the lid.
2. too small for large sponge work

Rating:
6.5 out of 10

What brand of paint? What volume of paint? And what was the price?

I'm glad to see yours are all "lined up" the same direction. The photo on the Silly Farm site always bugged me because only the first two split cakes are really lined up, so you would have to turn your hand funny ways to load from the other colors. They must have run out of the 6 color pallets when you ordered, so it is cool that you were able to get 7 empties that you can now put whatever you want in them.....YAY for the free upgrade.
Does it tell what brand is used in the pallet? It would help to know what brand you were using to be able to help in dealing with the "mushy" issue.
That sounds like what Snaz does in high heat or humidity.

I just got mine yesterday and I like it!
They don't tell what brands are used in this palette I found this palette on the kryolan palette link : http://sillyfarm.com/kryolanpalettes.html ...the paint is kind of soft, that's true, but it gives you a good coverage.

Pros: 1. good coverage
2. convenient
3. nice color options

Co: no information about products used, volume or quantity.....(what am I going to say to the mothers while I'm using this pallete??)

The palette includes .35oz of paint in each cup. So, .35 x 6 . It does not say what type of paint is used. It is listed under the exclusive page http://www.sillyfarm.com/sfexclusives.html . This is one of those items Silly Farm makes themselves. $30.00

Aaah I used to get that container when i ran bead parties, but sold them all off. They were handy - not seen them for ages but they were cheap in the UK...

I also want to know how much paint is in those pots because one of my students is interested in it. I asked sillyfarm in an email and never got an answer so I made all my own split cakes in my Snaz rainbow kit when I started FP but it really grew quickly from there! Now I am considering another pallet at Michaels with deeper wells ; )

I bought these a month or two ago. I too received the 13 pot container. I cut up my small SNAZ sparkle palette and made my own sparkle split cakes in the empties..

Positives:
1. I like the color combos
2. the dvd was good for me as a beginner. pretty helpful and easy to understand.
3. the extra containers I received were a nice bonus! Smile
4.) easy to use as a beginner.

Negatives:
1. not sure what kind of paint this is? so I likely won't be using this on children. Bummer!!!
2. paints have a kind of weird smell. (but I only have snaz, ben nye and paradise to compare with)
3.) I didn't realize I would need a larger brush to use these. So I had to buy a new brush. (I think it should be included and the price adjusted to reflect that accordingly)

I think it's a little overpriced for the quantity of paint.

Sure it says on their site somewhere its a mox of Wolfe, Paradise, etc.

TBH Is why I stick to making my own - I stick to 1 brand per split cake not just due to possible reactions btw paint but also as diff types of the same brand let alone diff brands wear away at diff speeds.

Ie don't make 1 with all plain standards colours and a strip of sprakle 0 sparkle is softer so 'goes' before the rest!

Hey Winger.. I love your split cake palette. It has everything you could need in it! But you photo always bugs me!!! And it's not because it's bad, it's because I can tell that your color in it is really off.. you have it lit with a yellow light bulb.. so all of your colors look yellow. I photoshopped the colors for you... hope you don't mind. I'm just a nut for photographs and it was buggin me! I think this seems more accurate with the colors that are in your tray:

Exclusive Wonder Palette by Silly Farm Retouc10

it's still not accurate because I'm just guessing... but I needed a new reference for my brain! lol..

done with love! promises!

Photoshop Levels are my friend! I think that everyone should get some sort of photo manipulation software! If only Gimp, and Gimp is even free!
