Me as a Zombie!

This design got me my first Halloween booking! I'm not totally sure what to charge, I'm thinking around $45.00 or so...

Lol... it was one of those "not paying attention to the time and almost 2 hours later..." faces.

However, I was winging it and my 1 year old daughter is sick so I've been tending to her also... I'd say I could do it in about half hour?

I'm charging $25 for 15 minute designs (most complex stuff, just face, I can finish in that amount of time). This would = my hourly rate. Now if we are adding arms, etc.... the price goes up. Latex, prosthetic will also add to the cost.

I paint this group every year 2 years ago it was pretty zombies.

There is 8 of them all togeher and i have about 2 hrs to get them done until I have to go to my next booking. 5 girls and 4 boys designs. Let me see if I have the boy designs. I can't find the boys from 2 years ago but I found from last year.

My daughter thought it was hilarious!!!! I was trying to hide my face so she wouldn't get scared but when she saw it she started laughing lol.

Then I did my face up and sent the picture and she booked right then and there.

It must be, it's so pixilated. I wouldn't really know what to do.. it just looks burned to me. It's not like I can paint her eyeballs black lol

Yep, this is my first. Last Halloween I was a maybe once a month painter and my daughter was 1 month old. Things have certainly changed for me, my maternity leave is over and I am not returning to my pathetic minimum wage job. I am a full time painter (as full time as I can be).

I've joined almost all of my local facebook groups, selling gift certificates for parties and auctioning them off also. It's a lot of fun, and I'm getting close with some local fundraisers. I'll probably be painting at next year's Terry Fox run in Acton.

I'm very happy with how things are going. From $25/hr to $80-$100/hr... wow lol

Nice sometimes it starts out slow and then it takes off!
Winter is always the slowest for us from xmas to march is usually slow here with the snow and such.

Thank goodness to my regulars thought I can always rely on them.

Yeah I'm hoping I don't get hit with a slow season but it's probably inevitable..

My family is so supportive though, and my hubby's family is getting better (they thought it was a joke at first and told him to tell me to get a real job). Now they share the pics I post on Facebook and tell their friends to hire me.

So it worked out for you. If it gets dead and you need some work around winter check in to see if I have anything to pass over.

Well I myself am at The Royal Winter Fair that weekend.
Yet yes I have someone available for that day.Are you already booked.

I just got a job at the big mall here all day for halloween for 5 face painters.
Its hallooween day though bummer my kids well I'm done at 5om so thats not to bad.
Plus all my personal appts are on the weekend 26,27th and 28th for the clubs and parties so I am fine with that.

I am not doing a black swan this year either I hate painting that. Allt he white all over the body it doesn't come out white like the movie it is see through and I am not happy withthe way it looks.
Yet I have like 4 friggin Kiss faces the same face every year they get.

Yeah it's for my friend, I told her I would try to find her a good painter.

I LOVE that zombie face! Good luck with the job. I'm picturing you tending to your sick child, looking like this. Kids get used to anything, don't they? lol

It's a family friend so I guess it's not that big a deal. It's not like a complete stranger wants to pay $90.00 for her and her husband to be painted. But still, I'm very excited!
