hey there new here from Washington state
I am new to face painting but just did my first weekend at Walters Fruit ranch in spokane Wa... they start their annual apple festival next weekend... and I am set up next to the pony ride... So its great exposure!! Had a blast painting faces... man I love doing this....... I am an artist from Deer Park WA... and have been doing portraits and animal art for years... but now with a 7 year old its hard to do the client work when I am the stay at home mom and her playmate literally.... But this is something we can do together... and she loves talking about it and modeling it... so I can see painting when she get a a little bit older too... as my helper alongside me. She is already talking about it! LOL!
I have the basic colors and had a question about which combo color cakes to purchase first... I have two rainbow cakes but have not gotten any more.. I am finding that the large cake is a bit too big for those little cheeks.. so was wondering what you folks who have been doing this a while recommend...... thanks for the welcome!! I love learning all I can on this stuff!!!

Hi and welcome!
There are pretty much 2 kinds of split cakes: those sized best for sponging and those sized best for one-stroke style paint brush application. I believe that as you practice and read and learn here you will find many options for both styles.
