Let's talk websites..... Empty Let's talk websites.....

A website was the first thing I thought I needed even before business cards. I went right for the dot com from the beginning. I feel I have a nice simple site, but even though its counter seems to get lots of hits, I don't get as many inquiries as I thought I would.

What is your take on websites?

I feel my website has helped tremendously. I've gotten most of my jobs online. I don't think I've been hired a single time by people who have seen me at festivals, from my car advertising, local ads or direct mail. All of my hired gigs have been from people finding me online.

I take that back, I did get one corporate gig by word of mouth from someone who saw me at another corporate gig. The first gig had initially found me online.

I also don't aggressively hand out business cards at festivals, so that may be the problem. They might not know I'm available to be hired? I need to work on that.
