bring it on Aust..
Goss i wish more Australia restaurants would hire face painters. I have only seen a painter at the pub on kids night and thats as rare as hens teeth.
Re: Just some observations...
I kinda have the opposite reaction! The number one question "Where dod you go to get that?" Then I tell them that I do it and it starts a whole conversation.
I love painting my daughter's because people always ask who painted them and they say proudly "my mommy!"
Twice I painted my face for a gig and had a person run up to us and ask for a card. I try to paint my face all the time now

I've only been painting three weeks, but I LOVE it when that happens. It makes me feel all fuzzy and proud.tinkerbell5481 wrote:I love painting my daughter's because people always ask who painted them and they say proudly "my mommy!"
When I had to go grocery shopping last week with a full-face tiger painted (I'd mistimed my practice, don't judge!), I found the reactions really amusing. Adults would mostly meet my eyes for a second, then their mouths would twitch as if they were trying not to laugh. I felt like saying
"Look, I'm a fully-grown adult whose face is painted to look like a tiger. I'm aware of this. You're aware of this. You're allowed to giggle, I won't (actually) bite!"
I did get a couple of wide grins, and two compliments, which was lovely. The kids were universally happy to see an adult willing to have no pride, and walk around in Tesco as a tiger. I got several oohs, and one full-body-stop-turn-and-point-going-WOWWWWWWW.
I also got asked to do a birthday party, which made me act like a rabbit in the headlights. I'd only planned on being a mum-who-paints-her-son-for-fun...

That's actually rather comforting. If I can ever be half what some people on here are in terms of face painting, I'll be pretty happy.PaintedFaces wrote:You wouldn't believe how many of us started that way Kammy.

As a clown, I love when people laugh at me! It makes me feel like I'm doing my job I love when I have a clown gig in town. I sometimes have to park a few blocks away and walk. It's always fun to see people's reactions! It's amazing how many men will give cat calls though I guess they have a thing for clowns
