Facebook Ads? Empty Facebook Ads?

Has anyone ever promoted thier Facebook site with an ad? I was thinking about doing one for the upcoming Halloween season, but I wondered if anyone has had positive results from this as I've never tried it before.

I tried it for a little while, but they were showing more clicks than my website was registering coming through so I cancelled it. I didn't want to pay for clicks that I wasn't really getting. I like google adwords.
