Today was a good day to be a face painter. I got to paint at a gymnastics summer camp today. I painted the owner's daughter and I know that this little 6 year old has been having a really hard time dealing with the recent death of her father. She looked like she had some tears earlier in the day. After I was done painting all of the kids, her mom told me that she wouldn't come to the gym for days and the promise of face paint was the only way she got her there. She saw another little girl that I had painted yesterday and decided she was willing to go to the gym today to be painted. That made me happy.

So the mom is a friend of mine and posted a picture of her two little girls and a little boy painted. I commented that it was good to bring a little joy into their lives, particularly Marley (the 6 year old) and her mom replied "Yes, Marley definitely needed it. She is still a lion and will be until I can bribe her to wash it. Smile"

I use painting as my own therapy a lot. When I am in a funk I let everything else go and just paint.

It is so awesome ,that something you love to do can touch little ones even in dark times I love you

I use FP also as my own therapy... Having these difficult days I offered to paint the neighbourhood kids for free tomorrow.
Just painting and make all these wonderfull kids happy reassures myself.
