Colorini vs. Airbrush Ink

So, I've been using airbrush ink with paintbrushes for a couple years now. It creates fun tats that last awhile, especially when set and sealed.

I would like to know what's the difference between them before I invest in anything new? Thanks!

I would also like to know if i can use air brush ink with a sponge and a stencil...

Barb, not well, no. The mixing medium soaks into the sponge while the pigments sit on the sponge and clump up instead of being particulated throughout the medium. The outcome is less than desirable, chunky and patchy.

I wasn wondering the same thing here... Is colorini thicker than the ink? What ink have you been using? I have an event and I can do only temp tats. Would love to be able to use some tattoo ink on some.. What kind of brush do you use for the ink tattoos? This is all a very new area for me.

I use Endura and just normal paint brushes. Nothing special.
The only thing with it is that you need to make sure that you shake them well to mix the pigments. I set them as I would normal airbrush tats.

I use the same brushes. I just clean them after.

You have to set and/or seal temp tattoos for them to actually last. I mean, you can just paint/airbrush them on but have you ever seen the ones that flake off as the kids are walking away from the airbrush artist? It's because the person didn't take the time to set.
I do this one of two ways. I either brush just a touch of talcum powder over the ink once it's done. I also have a clear coat sealant that I use, which is the one I prefer. I've had clients tell me their tattoos lasted 2 weeks- even through an amusement park and a water park.

I think it is too thick to go through an airbrush, you could thin it, but you might as well use something already thinned. The colorini works well with the finger pouncer sponges. You can get them at Ybody, I think. They are little round ones that fit on the end of your finger, and are great for bams and taps too. The colorini does not have the same issues of separating on a sponge so colorini and sponges are a go (at least for the little finger ones!)

Good to know. I was curious because i own some colorini and am buying an airbrush and hybrid paints. If my colorini would go in the gun, then it saves me buying ink at the same time, but what the heck, bite the bullet.

try the smallest size bottles, it goes a lot farther than you would think! I like endrua too, but there is a less expensive airbrush tattoo ink through tcp global that we use some times. It comes in sets, very affordable. Does not smell as nice as EBA, and you may have to mix some colors, but the price is very nice. Would only reccomend this for tattoos. Have fun!

Hey martha, what is your supplier for TCP global? I tried to order through them and they said they didn't have any American distributors?

I was going to go with the colorini or even the moonlight colored glue, but I found Olive Branch Ink-it. I love it. My tat stayed on for a week. It's an airbrush paint but you can sponge it on or paint with a brush. It only ccomes on 5 colors, but you can mix them to make more colors.

I'm liking it, I've only had it for a week and haven't been able to use it on the public yet. I have used it on myself and my daughter, we put it on the day we got it last Monday and it looks good today (Sunday). I have not tried their long lasting or dry quick for the airbrush just the paint-on also called Ink-It. You can just by the ink and not have to buy the little kit ($50) since you can use glitter tattoo stencils. Wish I knew that part though because I bought the kit and the 2 extra sets of reusable stencils. at least the stencils can be used if I plan into doing actual airbrush tats with an airbrush. I'm going to do more this week and I'll update my experience.

They told me the other inks are specifically for the airbrush, so I'm taking it as a no, I guess. it would have been nice if it did because you (or myself) could get big bottle and use it for both, when I get to actually airbrushing. Now I have to play and see what colors I can come up with, since they can be mixed to make new shades and they only offer 5 colors.
