I'm sorry that you don't feel you recieved a warm welcome. To be honest, warm welcomes generally come from the introduction thread not the swap thread.
Hopefully you can understand why people would be up at arms if the first post made was with the intent of selling something without anyone being given the chance to know you. You yourself admitted on another thread that you'd been lurking behind the scenes. The swap board is founded on an understood premise of trust...you can't trust what you don't know. I don't think it's asking too much to establish yourself as a trust worthy member of the forum before asking people to send you money for an item (sight unseen at the time of your first post).
Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
Please accept my apologies. Gosh, I really screwed everything up.
You know how when you watch your local new channel and feel like you know the people and when you see them out it public it's like "it's me, I watch you all the time".
Guess that how I felt. Lol. My bad.
I've been reading posts and loving all the great comments.
Once again, I am so sorry.

Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
Ouch, I don't find it offensive at all. Its a public forum and not really sure who is making the rules here but thats a bit harsh I think. If you don't trust, maybe you have issues, not the person selling something....hmmmm, just sayin....Does she not have a right to jump right in? WOW
Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
Thanks, Veelux. Guess I'm more trusting than others. Oh well. Lesson learned and no hard feelings on my part.

Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
Where did you purchase them from? I just did a quick search- everything I found was btwn $25-35, but they were indicating Paradise by Mehron.
Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
I'm sorry but I have to say that $40, even with shipping, is pretty pricey when they can be bought for new for cheaper (I can order one for $20 and the shipping is $3).
You might also have more takers if you lowered to a reasonable price or listed what you would accept exchange for. If you read through most of the posts in the Swap Shop you'll see that they aren't out to make a profit but to unload stuff to make way for new.
Just a thought, hope this helps.

Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
I bought mine from Silly Farm and paid $48. It's listed under Mehron Powders on the second page about half way down.
I'm not sure you're looking at the same thing. Where did you find them for $25-30? If I can buy them cheaper that would be awesome!

Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
It's an entire pallet of powders (8 colors) and I'm not trying to profit just ordered the wrong thing and it's now just sitting in my case.

Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
That pallet ranges from 48-55 online. 40 is a fair price. While I understand weariness of ordering from someone new to the forum, She hasn't done anything wrong. Welcome to the forum!
Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
Thanks, Eva.
Gosh, this some people on this forum seem very jaded.
Lady Jayde's comment about me "lurking behind the scenes" made me feel like some kind creeper. Good grief!

A Steele, Welcome to the group! It took me a while to jump into the forum and also a while to jump into the swap shop, now I hover over it like a hawk waiting for the next great deal!

Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
Saw the pallet listed on Mehron's site for quite a bit more, if they were colors I was interested in, I'd go for it. Seems like a good intro to the starblend type stuff...
Oh, and welcome Asteele. (I had a faux pas myself one time when someone asked what you use flesh colored paint for--having a multi-ethnic family, I stuck my foot right in it... but you can learn a lot here, people are just as fallible as elsewhere.

Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
I am just going to address two comments and then I'm done with trying to make sense of any of this discussion:
No, being cautious isn't a sign of trust issues. It's a sign of treading carefully. Perhaps after you've been burned a time or two on a forum swap, you'll understand the value in knowing something about the person you're going to send money to for products and the frivolity of flying blindly into a sale sight unseen. Most forums that I am a part of do require that swap shop participants at least let the forum know who they are prior to offering to sell anything. As I said, I speak from a position of experience and I don't appreciate the suggestion that I may have a trust issue because the fact that the first ever forum post was made in the Swap Shop. Likewise, asking someone to introduce themselves in the proper thread is no more harsh than asking people to search for answers to popular questions before starting up a thread with their question.
The terms "lurking" and "lurker" have been common coin phrases used in online forums for oh, I'd say 10 years now. If you delve a little further, you'll even find members referring to themselves or their bystander activity as "lurking". To lurk is to "stay hidden" which is what you yourself said that you'd done up until recently when you had something to sell. If my common place description of your past activity makes you feel like a "creeper", it is because you choose to feel that way. I firmly believe that nobody can "make" you feel anything until you choose to feel that way. The term is common place and it has a benign meaning within the online forum environment, however you can call it whatever you like, but it is what it is regardless of nickname.

Re: Mehron Pallet For Sale
it is very upsetting to see the how people are treating you on your first post. A person with low confidence might not ever post again with a welcome like that. Someone should of explained in a polite and adult like manner that she should introduce herself first, for example " hi I noticed you were new, you might get more offers if you introduced yourself first" and then maybe explain how and where to explain where to introduced yourself. Instead she was immediately criticized more than once! And then she introduced herself and apologized many times and she is still getting nagged at what more you want from her! BEING HELPFUL IS WHAT IS HELPFUL!
