Greetings All,
My name is Melissa aka Lil Bit. I found this site last Friday and have trolled through 100's and 100's of your posts, figured about time to introduce myself. I am brand new to face painting and probably put the cart way before the horse. I was so eager to start painting and didn't want to wait on shipping that I bought an Essentials Wolfe palette from local costume and make up shop. I wish I hadn't been so eager because what I really want are those beautiful split cakes. Live and learn. Will be ordering those as soon as I figure out which ones to start with. If you could have only 1 split cake, which would it be? I can't wait to put some pictures in my gallery. Everyone's work here is so beautiful. Looking forward to interacting with you all.

Welcome to the Forum, Lil Bit!
You were right to purchase a Wolfe Essentials Palette.

If you ask me in a few weeks what my favorite split cake was, I may change my mind.

TAG Neon Carnival (Neon Rainbow Butterfly, Neon Rainbow Princess Mask, Neon Rainbow Fantasy Tiger) hands down most used cake at birthday parties & Festivals. FacePaintForumShop

I am loving my TAG Havana Sunset Cakes (Butterfly, Princess Masks, Fantasy Cats, Island Scenes, Batman background) FacePaintForumShop

When I first began with Split Cakes, I began with Rebecca's Arty Brush Cakes of Rose and the Bright Leaf. The Leaf cake was also used to make Snakes, Dragons, Dinosaurs.

You will also need some flat brushes and great sponges to go with your splits. FacePaintForumShop

White Glitter is all you need for Face painting FacePaintForumShop

Martha, I am embarrassed to say I'm not sure what I mean. Embarassed The ones with 3,4 or 5 colors in them. Please don't laugh too loud.

It's okay to be new so don't be a bit embarassed. You want ones to use with a brush for a one-stroke technique or big ones to use for laying down a blended base?

Martha,
Actually, I think one of each to start for practicing. I've been doing some cheek designs with the palette I have but want to expand quickly to the faster designs so I can expand my portfolio. Thank you for your assistance.

The Unicorn 50-gram cake is really pretty and the Tropical Breeze as well as the ones already mentioned.

Welcome Melissa Very Happy
I'm new to face painting and split cakes myself, but so far my favorite split cake is the TAG Carnival. It's pretty awesome!
