I think i might have ruined mine washing them. I love n#2 for lining and the chisel brush. N#4 used to be good but i noticed it start to open up and loose its shape after washing it. Mind you i am a mum that paints at home to learn and did not really use this brush out as much as any of you could have.
Now is so bad when i use it some of the hair goes in different direction and i am not able to do clean tears drops with it.
Is there a proper way to wash your brushes so that they last longer? scratch

Is this an appropriate place to ask nicely for a YouTube tutorial on how to load brushes correctly? I have a hard time going from words to movement...

Erica, i did! Not sure why i did not think of it!! Thank you lol!

Rebecca, i know Mark Reid and Marcela show it nicely at Faba Tv not sure you are a subscriber. I buy dvds!!! That is becoming too expensive now!
This year i have more time and planning to get a subscription!
Not too sure about you tube?!?
I watch a lot Lisa Joy Young i remember her showing how to load a sponge! sunny
My favorite you tube is the one Denise at paintedparty (i think is our moderator) made: "Loading from one-stroke face paint cakes". I love you

Sadly fabatv is out of my financial reach. Crying or Very sad
I'm an avid YTU student, but have never seen any on loading a round brush.

This is from You Tube....Becky Anthony she is absolutlely amazing!!! She is not exactly doing what Mark Reid says nor Marcela but it seems to be working as she is not swinging the brush all around.

A couple of months ago I revisited my mark reid brushes, still annoyed I didn't like them....
I started using them more and more over the past months, and I'm used to them now.
They're not the same as the da Vinci harbin kolinsky that I've been using and loving all those years, who have a perfect fine tip and flexibility.
But the mark reid brushes are working for me too ... I can't do backwards teardrops with the da Vinci brushes, and the mark reid brushes are great for them....
I noticed my style of painting has changed in the past year, which makes the MR brushes more useful... I'm using more backwards teardrops, and I'm faster then before

So, review revisited: the mark reid brushes aren't bad, but I had to get used to them.
I'm using them more then my da vinci's at the moment, and haven't had an issue with the hairs splitting so far...
How these brushes work for you seems to depend on your style and used techniques
