Dream Catchers? Anyone done one?
Just out of curiosity anyone done a dream catcher before? I would love to see it if you have. My daughter collects them and I thought it would make a neat design if it could be done.

It's a ring, with a web, and some feathers. It can totally be done.
Re: Dream Catchers? Anyone done one?
Proof of concept. I've made them before so I followed the same idea when painting. It would look better in...... well, frankly, anything other than the shribble of paradise black I was using to practice tear drops with.
also, it appears the middle was still wet when photographed.

I make them, and mandelas, but I've never been asked to paint one... interesting idea...

I am a ful blooded native.... I do them all the time!! lol I also get asked to do a lot of medicine wheels and feathers. Here is a quick one I did on my knee. Took about 1 minute.

What is the diff. between dream catcher and medicine wheel? They are quite similar I think.
Re: Dream Catchers? Anyone done one?
a dream catcher is an object that is made for someone to place above their bed to allow their good dreams to pass but to catch all the bad ones. a medicine wheel is an object that represents the 4 directions and are an important part of our spirituality.....comparing the objects are like comparing a pentagram to the Star of David... they may look similar (meaning, they are both stars) but to the people that it represents, they are two entirely different objects. lol Here is a pic of a medicine wheel..... As you can see the only similarity is that it is round.

Re: Dream Catchers? Anyone done one?
I did one. I liked the feathers but not the dream catcher part so much because I've made real ones and it didn't look like them.
I remember seeing an amazing one as part of a body paint at FABAIC this year, but I guess I didn't get a picture of it because I was just looking back at them and couldn't find it.

Re: Dream Catchers? Anyone done one?
Inspired by this thread, I painted a dreamcatcher last night - trying out my new Cameleon paints . The black and white are DFX though...
