Starblend Wolf
It's hard not to put the "e" on the end of Wolf! Anyway...got my Monster Grey today from Metina and I saw a werewolf (which I will do next and add here) so I decided to do a wolf. I found a good contrast black and white photo and I really like it IRL but on camera it's a little round and cat looking but so much better than the last time I tried wolf. I made a Christina Davison panda type nose and added some black outlining to the eyes to bring the corners of the eyes down. I made two teardrops up at the corners of the mouth and then just basically a straight line across...not much lip lining. Used the Starblends white, monster grey & black (for the eyes and to darken the middle of the forehead and below the white of the muzzle.
Re: Starblend Wolf
Denise, I am loving all of your starblend faces. So creative, and really inspires me to break out of my starblends box!
Re: Starblend Wolf
Love it. You're so brave to paint your face. As I've said before, i have pores the size of dinner plates, hahaha, no black here!

Re: Starblend Wolf
Brilliant! I did 90% of the 50 or so faces I painted tonight with starblend bases (everything but my rainbow butterflies!!!) because we were in a hot gymnasium and everyone was sweating. I can't believe how versatile they really are!
Re: Starblend Wolf
Starblend white photographs much more opaque than it appears in real life. That being said, it does go on more opaque with a damp sponge/ smoothie blender compared to going totally dry.
Re: Starblend Wolf
But you can't use your starblends dry after you've used them wet unless you scrap off the top layer, correct?
That being established, maybe if I get the white on the smoothie and spritz the smoothie? Do you think that would work?
Denise-
Your wolf (e-less) rocks. I'm tempted to try and probably will try this with my paradise.
Seriously, I so need to stop stalking your stuff.
Angela------not a stalker.

Re: Starblend Wolf
You are correct about once it's wet, it's never the same. It's still usable though. A friend of mine accidentally spilled a cup of water on my white. I preferred it wet after the "accident," it's not quite the same applied dry as before, but I usually dampen the smoothie blender ever so slightly when I use the white. I don't wet the blender for the other colors though.
Starblend Werewolf (Movie Style)
Here's the werewolf from the Wolfe's Extreme Face Painting book. I took pictures in three stages to show the Starblends by themselves, at the rake brush stage and then with the black and white finishing linework.
Re: Starblend Wolf
I was frustrated by my white today. I might have to mist the smoothie like I do for my glitter...just enough to pick it up but not wet the cake. The boys scrunch their eyes so much I can't get in (not that the wet will help that, but at least it won't fall all over their cheeks.) It was funny today though because it seemed like this little 3 year old boy was moving a lot when I was putting on the Starblends (I was telling his mom how boys hate paint and the powders make it easier) and sure enough, when I tried to add the stripes to the tiger he was practically doing a Matrix to get away. There is no way I could have based him out in paints. I've got to add more designs. I want to add that cute Bulldog that Clayton did on a video and I'm thinking about a Thor design.
Re: Starblend Wolf
Cool Angela. I like the look of the Paradise. I got my pot of Olive colored Paradise this weekend but Emma was the one basing out so I haven't had a chance to really use it yet but she said she likes it.
Thanks for the nice comments. I'll have to add some scary teeth for the boys and put it on my board for the 4th of July.

Re: Starblend Wolf
Here is my version of your wolf with a couple of Philadelphia radio celebrities! I added some fangs at the young man's request.
These 2 kids have been through so much. The young lady on the left is a cancer survivor (got her survivor status at CHOP just last week - W00T!) The young man on the right is her twin brother. They had been at this event (a huge blood drive that I work every year) since about 6 AM. I painted them at 2:00 in the afternoon! They are an awesome family.
Anyway, I just thought you'd like to see your design "rubbing elbows" with some celebrities! Your creativity is amazing!

Awesome! He looks cool too. I love the way the eyes make him look "animal"...thanks for sharing.
