Dollar store finds!!!
Hey everyone, just thought I'd share my little Dollarama trip from yesterday
Travel pouch with 3 empty jars (glitter?), empty bottles and a mini squirt bottle (for rainbow cakes) = $1.50
Flannel Table Cloth = $2
Small tip brush (no size specified) = $1
Asparagus Saver (It was the tallest container I could find for carrying my brushes in) = $2
10 sheet protectors (for display binders) = $1.25
Anyone else get supplies from the dollar store?

Denise had a great tip a while back for "stencils". . . Dollar store doilies.
Have bought black eyeshadow for shading there as well as glittery bobby pins.

Re: Dollar store finds!!!
I was looking for shimmer powder and eyeshadow but I must be blind because I saw none... They had Elf make up brushes though lol
Re: Dollar store finds!!!
Quite a bit in the U.S. I actually bought some loose eyeshadow as well but like the pressed powders that I made from Coastal scents stuff much better. The E.L.F. blush brush makes for a nice cheap Kabuki.

Re: Dollar store finds!!!
I use to use a cracker saver container from Dollarama. It was quite tall and large enough to carry my thousands of brushes.
Love the asparagus container....it's cute.
Great table cloth as well. I need a trip to the Dollar Store.

Re: Dollar store finds!!!
Here in the lower 48 we have Dollar Tree and in my area, Real Deals... EVERYTHING is either $1 or less (if you are buying multiples marked 2 -or more -for $1)
You have to scour the shelves with a "re-purpose" eye, but I always find something useful... sponges, mirrors, bobby pins, containers... the list goes on and it varies all the time.
Plus, I get my mylar helium balloon bouquets there for events...

Re: Dollar store finds!!!
Yeah I saw some pretty sweet jewel stickers there I bring a little treasure chest to birthday parties for the guest of honour to pick a gift so I scan the aisles for small, cheap toys lol
Re: Dollar store finds!!!
i got some hair clips the other day 30 in a pack got 3 and some foundation brushes they were shaped like a filbert brush picked up 3 just to try them they worked great...
Re: Dollar store finds!!!
The brush I got actually has a really nice non slip handle and a super fine point. I'm pretty pleased.
Re: Dollar store finds!!!
I like the asparagus saver I used to used a tennis ball container but now I actually keep al my brushes sitting in this cedar holder me and my hubby made. just a bunch of big to small holes that i stand them in eaach their holes.
The best part is though that it is drilled out of cedar so my brushes smell reakky yummy too! They all just sit in their holes and that wooded block of all my brushes sits in my paint caddy so i am always ready and my brushes never get out of shape.

Re: Dollar store finds!!!
Dollar Store is THE place for hair clips. That's the only place I go for my face painting hair clips because they disappear so fast. It's also a good place to find random makeup, ELF is a surprisingly great brand for their price point (I use their regular makeup for myself!). I totally need to find something to store my brushes in! Also for non-face painting stuff, sometimes they'll have 2-packs of nail polish at my dollar store, good brands like Sally Hansen and Wet n Wild. Good for my nail polish addict self!

Yep! Clips, Bobby pins, and cheapo hair elastics!
Re: Dollar store finds!!!
jewels, hair clips, hand held mirror, bobby pins, cheap sponges to cut up, stencils, black hand towels for blotting my brush, table cloths, placemats, silver tray (I stick my brushes on it so they don't roll off the table), small toys/stickers/glow bracelets to give away and to bribe the rascals to hold still, glitter containers, spray bottles, googly eyes, glitter lip gloss (really sparkly, and I stick a q-tip in it to get some out for each girl), really bright colored eye shadows, baby wipes, weekly pill organizers for gems..........all of these items are purchased at the dollar tree, so everything is $1
Re: Dollar store finds!!!
There's a Poundland (our equivalent to your Dollarama, I guess) just around the corner from me. I've picked up a big pack of hair clips there, plus flowers and feather clips for my hair to brighten it up as I wear all black for face painting. I also bought a huge tube of emollient cream to put in my face painting kit, because all that washing of brushes and hands makes my already-dry skin get dehydrated and sore if I don't take care of it.
They often carry a mixed assortment of make-up that's worth looking through. I've grabbed some nice Wet N Wild face powder there before, as well as Stila (!) dry shampoo for a pound. Baby oil, spray bottles, stuff like that, too.
It's a great store for little odds and ends that are useful for my kit bag.

Re: Dollar store finds!!!
something like this just opened in our area, called "big bazar". things are really cheap, i don't think I have seen anything over 30 euro in that shop.
They had makeup glitter, it is loose glitteri n a tube, looks a lot like my superstar puffer bottle glitter - just different colors. I bought a couple, and some very vibrant and glittery makeup pallets. I guess I spent about 8 euros in total.

Re: Dollar store finds!!!
I get my hair clips at the dollar tree because I go through them so fast. Packs of 30.
Also stickers, which I cut the sheets apart and hand them to kids who are too young or scared to get face painting.
I have picked up tablecloth weights and chip clips, which I use for all kinds of things. The weights hold down my tablecloth when I use one, the clips can be used to attach design sheets to my tent, or if I have a price list I need to post up.....all kinds of uses.
I regularly go tromping through looking for things I can repurpose.
The ELF items, sometimes I get coupon codes for their website and I order off of there. Love their brushes and loose powders.

I love the Dollar Tree! I buy zip ties for my banners, glitter bobbypins and elastic bands, and cute water cups that are heavy so they don't tip over!
Re: Dollar store finds!!!
I have a Dollar General and they have the elf brushes for a buck...I bought the ones that look like a big filbert brush.....I use them for full face coverage and they work great...I always buy 5 when I hit the store..yeah I am stock piling. I also have a Dollar junk store....I fell into a great deal I got 18 "Smoothie Blenders" some are actually trianglular shaped.....I bought the whole rack....the lady said wow you must have lots of eyeshadow!!! I asked if she was able to get more I will buy them all....she now knows I am a face painter...I also got some little "liquid bling" it smelled awful but I got them for 50 cents a bottle and I washed out the bottles and made my own Glitter gels in a dozen different colors...I use them to bling up my butterflys.
