smileybee... just a little oopsie on your part...this is the balloon twisting section...

What kind of trouble are you having? The main mistakes with sponging are too much water or not enough water. Re-post this topic on "How'd you do that?" to see if others know of a good tutorial for sponging.

What kind of paints are you using? I ask because Paradise type paints are a lot easier to sponge blend than TAG or Wolfe. Are you specifically trying to blend or just sponging in general? I know I had serious trouble sponging and it's still not a strong suit of mine...maybe it's because I'm in Utah and it's so dry here, probably why I prefer rainbow cakes and metallics for about everything.
