Re: My new FATMAX
For those that fear for their fatmax lid. I bought a black folding stool from Walmart. It sits perfectly under the lid & supports it. When traveling it hooks perfectly onto the fatmax handle. I keep a few of these stools around in my festival tent for when I have to paint a super tall person.
Re: My new FATMAX
As far as a good buy, my Fatmax is 3 yrs old now & looks just as good as the day I bought it. The 1st one I got I did return immediately because the handle was broke. I exchanged for the one I have now.
Re: My new FATMAX
I don't stand to paint, I sit.
I made a support for the lid that works wonderfully, it fits in that v-groove on the top of the max when the lid is open and won't budge and gives strong support, even when kids are leaning on it.
with the lid open, I measured from the v-groove to the floor. I took two pieces of foam poster board and cut to that height. Then, I took duck tape and taped the two pieces of board together tightly on all four edges. When you place one edge in the v-groove and the bottom edge touching the wheels at an angle, the board doesn't have the opportunity to accidentally be kicked out. it provides a strong support, yet is lightweight to carry. I used black foam poster board and taped it with bright blue polka dot duck tape. then I used glittery self-adhesive letters and spelled out "Faces by Lorie" on it that people can see while in line. I also made one out of the holographic poster board using bright pink duck tape on the edges. It's easier to carry than a stool.

Re: My new FATMAX
I have a pvc pipe holding up the lid of my fat max..I bought a metal flange and drilled it on the fat max lid and the pvc pipe fits in the metal flange and open the lid...it makes a leg for the lid...I have the zebra duck tape on it...[img][/img]
Re: My new FATMAX
I also have a light weigh cork board in a frame on the lid and I have it bungied to the frame of the fat max so the table top won't come off.
Re: My new FATMAX
Barb! I like pipe flange addition! Now I gotta go back to the hardware store again!
I like your half-walls too. Good kid barrier!

the half walls are just tarps i got on ebay..i can fold them in half or put up a full wall...they really help keep the kids out of the tent..i use 3 of them...only one way in and one way out lol...here are what they look like the pole and the flange[img][/img]
Re: My new FATMAX

the pvc pipe just fits in the flange when i open the lid i put the pvc pipe in the hole..
make sure your flange fits the pipe...pvc makes flanges also...

Re: My new FATMAX
your welcome ladies make sure your pipe fits snug into the flange and you will have to measure how long to make the leg
