72 kids in 2 hours?!
Ok, so My Aunt got me a gig at the elementary school she teaches at. The Grade 2's had their first communion today and they had a few little retreat activities after, one of which being my face painting.
They had a choice between a cross, a dove, a chalice and bread, or an angel. There were about 72 Grade 2's and I literally had 2 hours to get through them! It was complete, and udder craziness lol!
So anyway, the kids loved it and the school will be booking me in for their Talent in the Park BBQ
Yay Me!

hopefully they will have a few other activities for the kids that day so they don't ALL come to you... you may want to suggest that they charge for your services to slow the line a bit and they can either keep a percentage or pay you hourly and keep the rest. When I paint for my daughters' school, I give them a percentage.

Hmm, that's something to consider. It worked out well today because the 4 classes rotated around the rooms so I only had about 18 kids in the room at once, and I made them all line up according to what symbol they wanted.

That's crazy fast. What a great idea coordinating the same design all at once.

Thanks guys but don't get me wrong, they were simple designs. There was no embellishing except for glitter, but unfortunately the kids spotted my split cakes and all wanted fire, rainbow, and jungle crosses, doves, angels and chalices with bread... I had no idea how to do a one stroke dove or chalice so they ended up kinda hack haha. But the kids loved it of course.
Re: 72 kids in 2 hours?!
i got booked and didn't think much of it thought people would know how many per hr and plus I mention it in my emails.
Went and arrived to 100 kids in 1 hr.
I walked around with my sponge, rainbow cake, white and black.
I told them to stay in their seats and I got almost 100 kids done in 1 hr.
Rainbow with swirls and curls and moustaches. Thats it.
I finally breathed after it was over.

100 in an hour?! That's less than a minute a kid!
I was totally parched after this gig, I couldn't imagine doing yours!

Yes it was serious BS to be set up like that what was I supposed to do. I didn't want to disapooint any kids and not paint them so it was stressful.

I like to pride myself on doing most of my faces in under two mins. My tricks? I set each color in the same spot everytime I go to a job, so I don't have to think about which color I am picking up, I just know off of memory, with cordinated sponges, I have each face I do memorized, and about 4 brushes, to keep it simple. the more brushes I have for that job, the more I have to look for the particular brush, 1 larger pointed round and one smaller pointed round, a wide angled brush and a brush with hairs some smaller than the other, for quick hair texture.
