How many hours will it last? Empty How many hours will it last?

Alright...gonna paint a design on my own face (adult) and the probably temp is going to be mid 70's. How long can I expect this to last on my face if I take care with it? Should I use some type of sealant...if so, what kind? I'd like it to last for 12 hours, is this realistic?

Thank you!

I paint my face ALL the time, for every gig.... I've been painted for 22 hours and it looks perfectly good when I get home. I take photos of everything I paint on myself, and many times I don't take them until I get home... they still are good enough to post.

If you are prone to sweating around the temples, etc. just avoid painting there.

You may eat off your lips.. but that's not a big deal.

One small point... if you are painting with Snaz it will not stay very bright over that long a time. The paint dries out and starts to "powder" off... losing a lot of the colour so it will look very faded.

Thanks for the response. This is my idea, it is for a U2 concert that I am attending. What kind of paint should is use...should I use a sealant?

You can, but with only three colors, you could throw them in your purse and touch up as needed. Instead of investing in the sealant. JMHO

I agree Metina. For something that simple you can just touch it up.

I've enjoyed painting with Snaz, but not liked this aspect of it. Do you have another favorite paint you would recommend that doesn't do this?

Sorry to hijack the OP!

I thought about this after Shannon posted and thought, what does it really matter unless you are being judged a couple of hours later? Snaz has so many good colors and being super safe, I wouldn't let this deter you.

Most times the impact is felt right after you paint, kids wowed, photos taken ect....use it without hesitation I say.

Don't get me wrong, I love other brands too, but Snaz just has SOOO many good colors in their line. I still haven't tried them all!

Well.. for me when painting for 6 -9 hours at small fairs and festivals it matters.

I see the kids roaming around and think, they look familiar... hey I painted them 4 hours ago.. oh my, that looks like they've been rained on and all the colour washed off, and just left a trace of colour and outlines. And I have to really look hard to figure out what they were.

That's why I use a lot of Kryolan along with the Snaz colours that I like... it holds better due to the glycerin content being higher and being a moister paint all around.

Oh yeah.... works perfectly fine. I started with Kryolan... so was "used to it" before I got my first Snaz. I've always mixed up brands.

It is the COLOURS in the brands that act differently, not the whole brand. Kryolan black is useless for line work it's sticky almost, but is great sponged on as a very even base. Kryolan's royal blue is great! Lovely opaque coverage with fast applcation - swipes rather than tapping like the Snaz Bright Red works...

It is creamier than Snaz as it contains more glycerin... so sometimes once you've added some water to it it gets a big gooey spot! Just scrap off the sponge or brush on the side of the cake/container to get rid of gops and apply. It smooths around a little better than Snaz with just a tiny bit longer working time.

My black/red Spidey is Kryolan black blended with Snaz Bright Red, usually with Wolfe Silver lines and Black Snaz for details... the white I'm never sure of - it is either Kryolan or Snaz.
