Can you tell me what you use to paint the lips? I assume at a craft show or festival you have to use something disposable to do the lips, to prevent germs, q-tips?

I bought this palette and use q-tips. http://www.coastalscents.com/makeup/palettes/lip-palettes/66lippalette.html If I could find cheap foam-tipped applicators in bulk, I'd prefer using those... the cottony tip on the Qtips gets all unraveled when applying the lip stick.

I prefer not using face paint on the lips, because whenever I've tried it on my own lips, they go numb. Neutral

nice kit! I picked up a few Ben Nye glosses on sale at my local costume shop, then I put some glitter in the gloss to match, it is working well right now. Really just need the pink and the gold, I can put blue glitter in the gold, and purple in the pink, and I have everything I need pretty much. I cut qtips in half, but I also have a lip brush that I clean with alcohol between uses, when I have time. If not, I don't use it again. I scoop out a tiny amount, enough for the girl, and put it on the back of my hand, and then dab it on.

When I paint lips, it all seems kind of wonky. I need new glasses before I do any more lip painting Laughing

I was looking at that same palette!! Tell me, does the blue go on BLUE? I hate the blue lipsticks that go on a whitish color. Yuck. I need blue!

I haven't tested out all the blues, but there are at least a few that go on BLUE!

In this video, at about the 9:30 mark, she does some blue swatches. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LtsuFqQe7g&feature=player_embedded#!

I use cosmetic applicators (similar to q-tips but the cotton is much harder packed and doesn't unravel). They are flat on one end and pointed on the other. I usually cut them in half then throw them away. I find them in the cosmetics dept at Walgreens.

Yeah I was just reading a silly farm blog post about using q-tips to apply face paint like lipstick. I picked up disposable "colts foot" applicators for my makeup kit through amazon. They look like lipgloss applicators.

@Dawnie, I was going to suggest those! You can get them on amazon also 100 for $5. Do you remember how much you paid at Walgreens?

I use qtips cut in half, and roll the end between my fingers to pack it together. Then pick up some paint and apply.

I actually just got the Coastal scents palette, though haven't used it yet other than my daughter and I testing out the colors.
I also have a couple of lip stains from ABA that I apply with a qtip also.

I ask if they want glitter, than apply some if they say yes.

Melody, I'm pretty sure that was about the same price at Walgreens. It's been a while since I bought them- they've lasted forever cutting them in half!

I buy the cosmetic q-tips, but mine are pointed both sides and I love it, they are 170 x $2.99, if you cut them in half you will have 340, I use real lipstick and sometimes lip gloss over it, but I really need a good metallic blue and green, that not cost $20 dollars a piece.
