Just popping by

Hello Ladeeeez!!!

It's been awhile. Okay, it's been what? 6 months since I've been here.
Things've been good...and busy. Always a happy thing, yeah?

Business is good, always growing and evolving. I got yelled at by the worst clown in a bad pink wig in front of a bunch of children who laughed at her and she didn't like it. That happened in December and I still chuckle over it.

I stopped by to check out the shop but realized, it's been forever since I've said howdy, so hi!

How's everyone doing?
Ramping up for the coming season?

I swear it wasn't me, I've never been to New York State in my life!

Wait a minute.... aren't children SUPPOSED to laugh at clowns? Where's her sense of humor?! LOL!!!

Well, it goes like this Ronnie.
I was hired by an entertainment company (who was hired by the sports organization) to paint at a series of sporting events. They pay me, so it's "free" for the crowd.
She and her friend (both in really bad make-shift clown outfits) pay for a table at the end of a hallway in the venue where they charge a dollar for REALLY BAD paints and a dollar per balloon twist.

The paints were so bad that they didn't pass the what is it test and they were flaking off.

Not only were kids coming to me to be painted, several who had the bad cheek art asked for us to wipe it off or fix it. The clowns saw this, and that we were not charging and at the end of the night jumped down my throat. The balloon twister glowered and the "painter" yelled at me so much that her wig was slipping. No joke.
How dare I be there at all?
(direct quote) How dare you paint like that and then offer it for free? Are you trying to make us look bad?

The kids were laughing because of how ridiculous she was.

I politely told her I was just doing my job, shook my head and walked away, later laughing my butt off at the entire thing as I recounted the event to the booking agent.
The following week they ignored me and then after that they stopped coming all together.

I have a crazy mental picture of a heated up clown with steam coming out her ears, wig askew and her buttons popping off.... LOVE IT!!!! Thanks, I was in need of a good laugh!

You should have seen the back of my neck that day. It was 103 in the shade and I used a different pink spray than I usually get so hot pink hair spray was running down my neck. The organizers of the annual event say's she's putting us inside this year but that was before the tornado hit the part of the venue that's inside.
