Need input on new logo PLEASE!

Wow! I've been working on this, revising, revising, etc. for a long long time!! Here's what I finally came up with. I would really love some constructive criticism/suggestions:

Is there a way to slightly darken the swirl above the name on the second one? It would help eliminate the impression of too much white space, and add some balance, I am thinking?

Well.... as typical I'll be contrary and prefer the first one!

Yeah, I'm with Shannon on this. The first one is cleaner and easier to read.
The placement of the background image isn't right somehow, leaves too much white space on top left and the image draws the eye away from Gina.

"Faces by" is too big and a distressed serif font so it competes with the beautiful Gina. I would probably make it "faces by" in a clean font like arial or or a clean brush script. Make it as small as the "by" is now and use that as your B/W print logo. I actually like the lightened blue swirls but they need to be centered in the back of your new logo making a whole oval shape that way it will be a good avatar.

I think it's much better but "faces" should be on the same line and same size as "by" and probably not be capitalized. Put them on the same line and then move them up a little higher up the slope of the "g".

Try it and see what you think.

I could see them both in your "logo package". Having worked the ad agency game for many years, clients always had 10-20 variations of their logos.

Keep'em both for when you need the variation. Very nice!

But if I have to choose. I like #1 for its cleanness. Never be afraid of white space!

I like the second one and love the swirl design behind it. I like Denise's point on the Faces by being a little large. You are the focus. Great job on both. I need to do this.

My eyes keep being drawn back to the first one.

The only thing I don't like is the top left white space. It makes it feel unbalanced to me.

More ideas:

I like the last couple you showed (with the smaller swirly heart design)

Not exactly what I'd envisioned but I like the last two because it makes a cohesive whole in both color and black and white. It looks more like a face painting because you have the design and then the swirl embellishment.

Looks like a keeper.

on the second set, I like the black one...but, on the first set, I liked the cleaner one even better. You could have even had the dot for the i be the largest of ascending dots worked into the design?

i love the 2nd one also..and would darken up the swirls too.

Second set....I'm drawn to the colors more... but i like the black, too.
