Just doing some practicing and wondering

1. Do you get a better swirl if you go inside tight curl to stem or vice versa. I'm finding when I do the tight swirl, my line loses it's sharp edges and I get 'whisps' instead.

2. Tear drop....what do people find gives them the best effect, to pull the brush or push the brush (I understand some go thick to thin while others go thin to thick)

1: no, my brushes does not have that problem. They are round sables and Diamond FX arcade. I had some from Paradise and Royal, that did that.

2: both ways, but mostly start from the thin part.

Where can you get Diamond FX sharp round brushes in the US? Anyone know?

Also, on average do their sizes run big or small?

For swirls I fine any round brush (Kolinsky sables for me) works... I find that lifting the pressure off while twirling the tip as I pull into the swirl keeps it sharp to the end of the swirl... does that make sense?

Drops... used to always go thin to thick but this season I've started doing thick to thin... and it is faster to do thick to thin!

Faster & easier - thick to thin. Try it on your arm at home, play with your brushes n paints on your arms and see what YOU like best. Smile

Thanks for the tips... I think I may be pushing too hard and that's what makes the brush hairs separate.
