I painted myself!!!!!!! Empty I painted myself!!!!!!!

Post by Making Faces Thu Oct 06, 2011 6:01 pm

OK - I know that most of you can do this in your sleep (!), but this is the first time I have painted myself! Didn't think I'd be able to do it, but I needed to practice a wolf, and my kids all ran a mile when I said I needed a model!

Anyway, I have been asked to do a wolf for a child next week, and I didn't have a clue how to do one. Could you kind and very talented and experienced FP'ers tell me what you think? Does it look too dog-like, and if so, how do I make it more wolf-like?!! I know there are other threads on here about wolves, and some AMAZING designs, but I have only been FP'ing for a very short time, and am not quite up to them. Thank you x

PS - also never tried to upload a photo in a message before, so if it doesn't work, I'm sorry and I'll try again!

I actually like it a lot...the ear on the left is the best because it's perky...seems more wolf-like. I like the way you put the mouth low, kind of like the Wolfe Brothers.

So, how did you like being face painted??? I've got to start wearing paint out more again. I haven't done it for a few weeks. Can you imagine the looks you'd get at the store with that on? Take your cards. Smile

I like it!
And I agree about the left ear looking very much wolf-like. But it all looks good!

I am also a newbie who has a lot of trouble painting on myself and I think it's great! Much better than any of my efforts on myself.

Very nice! I find it helpful to look at the actual animals and try to duplicate the coloring. Perhaps some shading around the edges. Great job though - especially for your first time on yourself, way to go!

Thanks for all your lovely comments, and helpful hints and tips. I actually quite enjoyed painting myself, and seeing as there is a distinct lack of willing volunteers in the house, looks like I will be doing more and more of it!
