Favorite way to apply glitter?

what is your prefered method for applying glitter? Do you poof, roll, dab? Do you use your brush handle, finger ect?

It depends on the effect I want. If I want glitter over the whole full face design, I'll poof it on. If it's a smaller design and I just want it in that area, I'll dab it on with a very slightly damp makeup brush.

Foam tipped eyeshadow applicators... keep one in each bottle of glitter. Tap it over the face to sprinkle - close to the surface for precise placement, higher for all over sprinkle.

I use a lollipop applicator rather than a finger (I assume you're talking about adding glitter to face painting) and because my TAG paints dry so quickly outside, I'll sometimes mist it slightly before I put it in the glitter and then it will activate the paint slightly so it will stick. That's if I forget to glitter while I'm painting. These work well, like Shannon said, for tapping and applying too like linework that you don't want touched.

I can't find the rounded head ones like I like. I tried to buy them again from Amerikan Body Art but they sent rectangled shaped ones that seem harder to me. I'll have to look around.

If you are trying for full coverage Pashur uses a medium sized round brush, wets it (not dripping) then puts the wet brush into glitter and then applies it to the paint. It works quite well. I'll use one side and then the other and then you re-dip into the glitter. You don't have to re-wet the brush for several times ( I made that mistake so I'm telling you!)

Poof onto wet surface/Spritz w/a fixative (watered down). (I often use a diluted organic hairspray so there's not so many chemicals).

Brush or cotton tip (q tip) here....

Oh no Denise, I just ordered the lollipop sponge applicators from American Body Art, and I wanted round! I like them...but not for glitter.

I am a poofer, but I would like to do more detail type applications, so I have started trying my finger. Still looking for the way that I like best to do that too.

Yeah, can't lie fpmom, I was very disappointed because I love the rounded ones so much and the rectangle ones feel very rough to the touch. Hopefully it was a temporary purchase and they are back to the old ones.

I use a poofer most of the time. I've gotten pretty good at getting it to just go where I want. If it is something where it just has to be in one spot I'll use my finger, but I like lots of glitter so that's not too often Also, when I've got a lot of kids watching while I paint they seem to enjoy watching me put the glitter on. I call it fairy dust, and then they get even more excited. At least for the girls. For boys, I'll say it's scales if they get something like a fish or a dragon.

I use the wet brush/rolling method. I also use a poofer sometimes if I want it all over and I am in a hurry.

I found these ones at a drug store near home. They were very cheap and I loved it. Pink, green and gold have a roll on and they're great for small areas. Red and blue have a brush to apply the glitter and I poof it over the design (mostly big ones). Here are some quick ones I did on my leg for practice:
