Spray tan.....before or after henna?

Spray tans annoy me when doing henna. I have encountered problems applying henna when someone has one, but I have never applied henna and had somebody go for a spray tan right after?
Experiences from anybody?

I have an individual who wants to have henna done for a special event, but she's also wanting a spray tan. Any recommendations as to which order, or how to do it, without removing the spray tan on that body part?

If anyone could help with this, it would be really great. I need to do this henna in the next couple of days and I'm not sure what to tell her?

Doesn't it darken a bit with time? If she's going for a light spray tan I might henna then tan - I think the lemon juice bit might ruin the tan...

Good point about the juice, and I was kinda thinking the same thing, that i could do the henna then the tan. I was hoping somebody might have some experience with this? Thank you for responding Kristal, I appreciate it

Well, I never had the situation before, but if she tans after the henna tat, when the henna goes she may have the marks, I will recommend to do the tan first, wait a cuple of days and then the henna, the lemmon juice, I know peple who tans with the orange and lemon juice jajaja, well that will be my advice I hope it helps!

Do the henna first. Otherwise your product will not turn out right and you will have to wipe off her spray tan leaving a patch of not tan which looks much worse then a inverse henna design long after the event is over. Aside from that once the henna paste is off the spray tan will just coat right over the top of the henna.

I would suggest she let the henna develop to full color before spray tanning if possible just to be sure the chemicals won't stop the development process.

I know this thread is from YEARS ago, but I am starting to add henna to my business and I have been wondering this exact thing lately. I was considering approaching a few tanning/spray tanning salons about doing special events together, but I want to know what the protocol should be for combining henna and spray tans. Has anyone figured it out???

If they spray tan first, you need to wait at least 48 hours to let it set before you do henna.

I always rub the client down with alcohol where the henna will go. If the tan is in danger of coming off with the alcohol, that's their problem. Not mine.
