FABAIC....who's going?

Hey guys,
I'm headed to my first face painting convention!!
YAY!
I've saved for a whole year!
I'm soooooo psyched! Is anyone else from this Forum headed to the FABAIC in Orlando next week?

I am assisting in 3 classes - my bad and teaching along side Mark Reid in another class on Sunday :-)

Now these might change. I am pretty sure that when you get your program at the convention it will list who is teach and who is assitanting

I get married on May 23, 2009 and we fly out to florida May 24th, 2009
I should of planned my wedding to work out with it.

Oh well, I guess the wedding is more important.

I am going to FABAIC.... It will probably be all day Sat and maybe Sunday. Depends on what happens here and my gig tomorrow. Yay!!!

Wish I was going, but have to agree with Shannon. Could they have planned it during a busier time? Through the Memorial Day weekend!

I am working both days this weekend and all three next. I can't imagine turning down all that pay.

IMHO these things should really be planned for our slower periods, but that's just me. This is when I try and do my training classes. When I am so busy painting, I really can't get into the mood of learning.

But, I do hope you guys have a super fun time and come back and post LOADS of pics fo the rest of us who were stuck working! LOL

What classes are you planning on taking?
I signed up for Karen Sawyers pre-convention beginners class, and I think I'm actually going to take one or two of the classes that KathyO is helping teach:

I'm not going to attend classes on Wednesday but will be there from Thursday to Sunday. I still need to work out my schedule so I can work in all or most of the classes I want.

I'm going! I just registered (for Saturday only). I've been trying to keep expenses down so I wasn't going to go. But a friend is going to keep my daughter so I can drive up early on Saturday and come back late Saturday night -- I'm doing it for me!

I wish I could go I work in a school real bad time to be away and I've been really busy with parties. I keep looking for something in or near NY - I am dying to get some training - I have been completely self taught and could probably really benefit from being able to work and talk with other painters.

I would suggest looking up other painters in your area and try and organize a jam. You may be surprized how many are in your area and that jams may already exist. I belive you can search your are on Snaz and http://www.fpbaa.com/

This is an excellent way to share your skills and learn from others in a relaxed setting.
