We've all had this happen...

The precious little ones get into the chair. You start to decorate their rosy, plump cheek when BAM! Cough or sneeze right into your face!
*sigh*
Once can be a bit forgiven but multiple times...

Yesterday I was painting at a party with lovely little ones running about. One child was in my chair and she coughed, 3 times. I also noticed a bit of lethargy about her but thought perhaps she was low key. I asked her if she had allergies. Nope. The night before she had a fever and was sick. *sigh*

Two children later, another cough. Herm. I asked if she had a tickle in her throat. Nope. "I have a bad cough and had a fever."

One girl didn't even make the party due to a fever.

Great.
For those who don't know, loading up on Vitamin C is a myth. It doesn't actually help so I paced the pharmacy looking for help between gigs. I did load up on antioxidants and immune boosters when I got home from my gigs, at 6am this morning. Now I am a bit concerned as I am facing down a two day drive to FABAIC that I will fall ill to kid-crud. I plan to go to bed early tonight- since being so rest deprived can't be helping either- and to keep on the antioxidants and immunity boosters but what else?
What do you do when the little darlings share their ick?

I am not sure about the myth but I do know that a lot of people are not getting enough vitamin C - lots of people with arthirist take 15,000 mg to help them - - It has helped lots of my older friends with RA - I have friends that take vitiamin C with calcium and zinc to make themselve feel better and one of them is a pharmatist.

I took Cold-FX when I first noticed the signs of a cold/flu setting in and I believe that it worked. I am usually quite cynical about miracle cures but I did NOT want to be sick when my grandson was born, so when someone recommended it to me I shelled out the $25 or $30 to see if I could stop that cold. And it did seem to work. It's a gingseng-based immune booster, I believe.

You might also consider reading up on oil of oregano. It's a bit controversial, but there are a significant number of studies available on it's efficacy as an antimicrobial agent in PubMed.
