Happy almost-over St.Patrick's Day! (warning - pix heavy!!)

Just got back from painting in a bar but I'm looking forward to pro-shots (or at least better shots) shortly! Quite excited about my evil leprechaun!
Started out blurry eyed in the morning with a great, albeit not-well-timed request from the DH to FP his head for work! Yay! I have approx. 3 mins. Boo. I have TAG snake from FPF! Yay! He said he had fun!


Now today was to be a HUGE girl party and I was to paint beefcake and peddle my art. 2 days ago the even was postphoned due to ummm....well...planning it on St.Paddy's day!! So the one of the models from my Day of the Dead shoot asks if I would paint her and another model for the bar. Um....what the heck? Could be fun and may get some shots. WELL! It was worth it, and I enjoyed the results, but would have liked more time and models in a bar with pals dropping by....not great for perfect results. Next to no light...also a pain. BUT got through and here are the results!

You are such an awesome artist! I am inspired to practiced with my split cakes today. I have been reluctant to use them because they are a bit new to me but the way you covered the arms and body then detailed it out is so cool.

Thanks guys! I think the beefcake photoshoot/party would have been predictable anyways so this was better. (Fox and sour grapes)
@Jody - LOVE split cakes! I used my own 'bright rose' (red,pink,white), my own rainbow and the TAG 'snake'. for the larger green, light green and white blend down the arms and over the chest it's actually brush and sponge, but I TOTALLY would have used a cake if I had one big enough. I did a 3 load on the sponge, but was having a pain to get it to do as I wanted AND my fingers started to look like I was fingerpainting!

I'm not sure when my next paint adventure is gonna happen....but I'll let you know! I think that LaFete is this weekend (wish I was goin'!) so I'm sure I will be too awed, gobsmacked and intimidated to do much other than drool over all the stunning work that will come out of that!!

Nice! I did a first grade party yesterday and all they wanted was green spidermans, batmans and zombies-even the girls!. I did one clover and one Irish princess and that was it.

I see now, it is too wide to just be a cake, my brain wasn't functioning yet , I hadn't had my 1st coffee . I'm better now. I love how you did that! Oh and I forgot to mention the Leprechauns , to cool.

Wow! I did very similar stuff at my club on St Pats but your's certainly blows it out of the water...

I have decided next year I am only taking one rainbow cake, one green split, a gold and black/white and glitter, lots of glitter... I had way too much kit with me even though I only had a shoulder bag!

While your leprechauns ROCK!...I really like how you did the arms and across the chest with all the swirls, both within the color wash, and then as a border to it. Beautifully put together!

We had a little party on March 16th for my friend born on March 17th. Her name is Paddi! Our kids are best friends. My daughter has another bestfriend so the 3 of them wanted a design that they could put together. We decided on 3 leaf clovers that when you put their cheeks together, become lucky 4 leaf clovers


This one was too cute not to share...(we don't have our own dog anymore, but borrow our friend's dog for lovin')


Here's the whole 'gang' that spends a lot of time together...
The three in the back are the same age (9) and the two in front are less than a year apart. (5)


This is the next day on St. Paddy's day. I painted the girls for school as well as myself. I taught my college class like this

@Shannon - I have great doubts that anything I do could blow your anything out of the water, but thanks for being so nice! And I know what you mean by taking more kit than you need. I brought one bag and could have left almost everything but the paradise pallette at home! But I was happy I had my TAG golds and 'snake' split!

@photomomma - I had a paying gig that fell through - well actually just postponed - so I met up to get these mostly for portfolio pieces. After this they went across the street to the photographer's studio so I'm hoping for some nice shots. This was a 'pay for pix' thing. BUT I did make $$ in the bar doing shamrock faces at $8 a pop so it was a bonus!!
