Anyone use this case? laptop case for 24 cakes

I tried to paint it yesterday and I ran out of paint before I was able to finish. I think I had a bad can. It sprayed really poorly anyway. So I will be going to get another can and trying to finish my project and then I will let you in on the results.

Okay, so let's see if I got this right. Is the laptop from the link the same one Metina has in her shop?

Linda, I have look for those at walmart, ac moore, joanns, michaels, and had no luck. I am looking forward to see what Whitney does with hers, I am anal and I want a black case LOL

Excited to see what u guys come up with.

All 5 of my laptop cases are black and only 1 of them is from mehron, so there are others available. I keep my paints velcro'd in the inserts but have split each pot so I still get 24 colors in each case but I can keep my lids on.

2 cases to house my reg. colors, neons, metallics (48 colors total)
1 case to house all my splits
1 case to house my starblends & smoothies
1 case to house my kryolan aquacolors, interferenze, and ben nye lumieres

I did use the new found party favor paint boxes (thanks to maggie) to transfer all my splits out of their round containers and I love it. So now all my arty cakes rainbow cakes and self made splits are all together velcored in the top and bottom in 1 laptop.

The cases fit nice and neatly in the bottom of my Fat max with room to spare...and each case it labeled on the outside with what is in it.

Maggie you can find those at Michaels.........however they do not sell them as singletons. You would have to buy their 3 drawer craft/scrapbooking bin. I think it sells for $35.00 or $40.00, but each drawer if you will is the very case that Linda and Whitney have. The only caveat, if you will, will be that each one will be a different color. If I remember correctly there was a pink one a b lue one and a purple one.

If you don't mind having them in different colors then there you go.

Okay, so you can fit 24 colors because you split them, not 24 cakes right?

HAhAHAh that's exactly why I didn't buy them..lol I love all my laptops are black. and yes each 32g or 45 g pot of paint is split between to 2 complimentary colors so If I need to blend I could right in the same pot
just swiping brush or sponge right down the middle.

Okay, Glad to know i am not the only one who likes things certain way LOL

So I leaning towards the one I posted a picture of, it fits 24 pots, bottom and lid are the same thickness and that makes me happy happy and I can put 12 cakes on each side

I also split my colors in half, very convenient.

If you read all my posts on this thread I ask like 5 times if Metina sells this case in her store but no one ever said anything lol I just kept repeating it like a drunk parrot hahahaha.

I'll pm her, I want to make sure her case has the same depth on both lid and bottom

The original pic is the mehron-style case.

They were the 1st/ original but all the later brands/ own brands brought out by aasrtd shops are the SAME. You can get diff sized inserts depnding what you want in them.
I just stuff whatever paints I like into old Paradise pots. (sorry, messy pic of kit, was a favour for a friend at her day-after-wedding hangover party in NZ, and boy, were we!)

I forget what my 2nd case was, not Mehron, its dark grey but you cant see really, just helps me ID which case is which when closed!

I prefer keeping each insert separate in its original box; then I can fit all my odds & ends, from brush pots to glitters and business card holder, into the 'lids' which keeps me neater and is harder for little fingers to get into.


The closures aren't great, mine went early on, but as I slide the 2 'laptops' into a plastic bag and try to keep my kit box flat, no problem. I have had mine 5 yrs now and put the through the dishwasher a lot!

Not if you went to the wedding, are hungover and have to paint all your mates kids whilst your own baby aggravates your head:)
