Face Paint Laptop Case

I want to buy a case to keep my paints in but I remember reading somewhere that certain brands don't shut properly. I've looked through many posts but I can't find much so I'm hoping someone can tell me what they have and if they like it. I can buy the TAG & Mehron cases. The Mehron case is $40 here in Australia, so I want to make sure it closes properly before I spend that much! Unless any Aussies can point me in the right direction of cheaper cases

Does anyone use the laptop cases? I'm thinking most face painters use scrapbook cases

I don't know about the longevity of them but after I bought a set of Paradise in the black case I thought I would shrink my kit down to two laptop cases instead of my big scrapbook cases (which I actually loved too.) I wish I could tell you more. The sides with the foam hold onto to the paints and one-strokes so I can close and open them without anything falling. The other paints and pots are loose.

Thanks Denise! I'm really just wanting my kit to look nice and professional so that's why I want black cases. Do your cases still shut properly?

I've had my laptopcases (also Paradise/Mehron) for about a year now, they still close well...

Thanks Tineke! LJY also has the paradise ones in her first set up video and then she still has them in her more recent set up video. Hopefully they'll be ok

I have the mehron and it closes perfectly also. I love it, was considering a second one but I've got plenty of paint for now

I bought a sillyfarm one for snaz a couple years ago, the little black pieces that made it snap together all fell out and it nolonger stayed closed after just a couple months. I also hated the foam insert because it was porus and I could never get the paint washed off and I have OCD about that stuff.

Can you store paint on both sides and still have it close?

depends on the brand of paints you put in it... the height of the jars that is....
if it's wolfe paint it will work, if it's kryolan it won't

I have mainly Tag and Wolfe... looks like I'll be buying a few cases

Like LJY, I wanted two cases. In August of 2011, I started out w/one FAB pallet w/20 of the 16gm Fab paints (Silly Farm) & ripped out the foam inserts. In a short time, I bought another grey Fab case , this time w/o the foam from Silly Farm. 20 months later, it all still works well & FAST! I only use one of those cases (pallets) for a birthday party or anything small, but have my splits/RC, ABCs & solid round cakes in them. All my 16 gm FABs are in a plastic pencil box & extra solids & RC's fill up a plastic covered container. It makes for a fast & easy set up & take down...compact & easy to keep clean. My cases can fit two 30Gm tags/Wolfe/DFX one on top of another, (2 layers only)unopened. I leave the covers off. Since I don't secure my paints to the box, I can pick them up...move around as needed. They travel well this way as long as the cases are kept flat.
