Anyone use this case? laptop case for 24 cakes

I found this case and it is like a regular laptop case but thicker and instead of carrying 12 round cakes you can carry 24, 12 on each side by getting another foam insert.
Just checking to see if anyone here has any input.

I think that looks like an amazing idea. i actually bought a meduium size tackle box from wal-mart and it has a top that opens and then in the front there are 4 cases that slide in in each one i put paints in and seperated each brand. i love it, its perfect for me to transfer all my paints instead of having to carry all the paint containers and brushes/supplies, plus making your own things saves ALOT OF MONEY! lol. but i like this alot as well.

Very Welcome! yeah you can usually go into your local walmoart, or any fishing supply store. and find a greaty tackle box the ones with dividers so that way you can divide paints and all.

I just googled tackle boxes I have a fatmax so I don't think I can fit one of those boxes in there LOL I wanted to use the fatmax as a table.

Are you sure it's deep enough? I've never seen one like that, that was deep enough. If it is, I want one! LOL! I'm really happy with mine except for it being clear plastic and not having the foam insert so this would be perfect if it really is deep enough that is.

LOL Whitney! It is deep enough, it fits 24 of the 32gr cakes with out the lids, 12 on each side I thought this was great.

Whitney, I have the same scrapbook case. Are you irritated by those curves in the design? I was thinking of putting some pretty contact paper on them so they aren't clear. ...or I might paint them with black paint for plastic. I don't know. Right now my paints are stuck on both sides with U-glue, which works fine, but then I have to put more on when I take them off to clean the case.

Gina, that is my peeve about those containers, not only they are clear but they have those bumps.

I bought mine at Stples/Business Depot. It is called a project carrier. It fits 24 round 32g paints and no indents.
It is not clear plastic either. More of a frosted glass. So, you cannot see through the case.
They were like $8 CDN.

Maggie that looks exactly like the laptop cases I have in black. I too with lids off can fit paint in the top.......only thing though I don't like not having anything in between the colors i.e. a piece of foam just in case one of the colors was to break/crumble.

So if the one you found is deeper in the fact that I can either keep all lids on or at least seperate the top and bottom with a foam piece.........like Whitney said I am alllllll in.

Any way to conveniently be able to carry more colors is great!!!

This thread makes me want to design my own and get them made. My ultimate would be:
About $12 (about 1/2 of the others)
Black
Flat (no "bumps"!)
Sturdy
Good closure
With a handle
with a thin metal insert on both sides so you could put magnets on the paints
fairly lightweight
about 12" x 12" x 3/4" on each side (opens in the middle)

you should do it Gina all it takes in an idea (and a patent lol)

If you buy the double pro pallet by Merhon you get two laptops so you can move one side into one case and have a double pallet.

I like that I can set up the other laptop to hold everything else so nothing usually touches the table......
Mine are black and after a year and a half of using them they are a little scratched, but still clean up good.

Changing, I think you could probably place a paper towel between the paints.

I didn't know what they were worth empty as I bought them for $400 full.
( yes I know - pricey!).... I just went and had a look to give you the link - but at $45 for 1 empty pallet..... I don't think you need the link!
I wonder if it's because Merhon has the only black ones?

The seller said they were black, then she emailed me later saying the new shipment look more like dark gray.

I was soo disappointed when I saw that you could get cases that hold 24, I just got my first case today, then I saw Tash's and went back and checked mine out again . . . . WOOOOOOHOOOOO, it fits 24!! Need to get another foam insert, cost me $39, bit pricey but I'm still in the gotta have everything newbie FP stage!

I have the black laptop & my only complaint is it doesn't stay latched shut. I have the paints velcroed in & tossed the insert(I can fit more paints that way). I also have the one Whitney has & have velcroed the paints in. It fits more paint & latches much better. I don't mind that it's see through. It's easy to clean. You just take out the paint & wash with soap & water. The price is better than the laptop(laptop: $20-$25/scrapbook paper case: $5-$10).
