Free Comic book day

Thought I would share this since I've been booked for it and apparently it is across North America...

the first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day... comic stores will be giving away comic books across the US and Canada on that day. I am going to be face painting at a local comic book store, doing ppf with a portion going to charity (my charity of choice is the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of Canada)... I'm hoping that I can impress the store owner enough that he'll hire me for other events. Of course, it means that I need to add a lot of super heroes to my usual stuff, but I've been meaning to expand my sample pics anyway.

You may want to check with your local comic stores to see if you can arrange something with them. People will be coming to get free stuff, so they might be tight with their money, but if part goes to charity they might be more willing... you could also push for them to pay you hourly.

Thanks for the info Perry. I'll have to stop into our local shop & see if I can work something out(my kids will be happy... they love stopping at the comic store).
