Show us ya snake!!
Hi all,
last gig i got heaps of requests for snakes. I am fine at doing the body using a split cake. However my snakes faces look very un snake like!! I tried numerous ways to do it, some with mouth closed and forked tongue, some with big open mouth and fangs, some cartoony stlyle, some more realistic etc. but I was not happy with any of them.
Does anyone have an example of a snake they do with a good head/face?!
Thanks.

Re: Show us ya snake!!
This is a super simple one I find easy when I've got little guys that can't sit for much...
You can add more detail (teeth, diamonds, blood, shadow) based on the 'stillness' level

Yeah, once one gets it, everyone wants it. I did a small party and about 1/2 wanted snakes and my daughter asked for 3 of them with different split cakes.
She managed to smear them all by the time I took photos, but here they are:

Re: Show us ya snake!!
I do a couple ....
This is my TINY super quick one
This one can be done larger... he had his forehead covered though, so I couldn't do it as big as I would normally like.

Re: Show us ya snake!!
Here's the Medusa I did on my arm as Pashur was teaching it as a face design at Fabbulas.
Also, someone got an awesome snake painted on their face at Fabbulas, it was all coiled up on the side of their face and the tail went across the chin, back around and looked like it was going through their nose. I think it had gold spots??

Re: Show us ya snake!!
My snakes are the ultra simple split cake variety. I use them when I need to pump them out or a get a squiggly boy..... definitely nothing special....
Re: Show us ya snake!!
Wow! I never even thought about the rest of the picture. Apparently, they don't allow you to put photos of your 6 year old with only little shorts on photobucket (understandably.) Anyway, I've cropped them all to just the arm. Sorry if that offended anyone!
Re: Show us ya snake!!
I also do a rainbow artycake for the girls

Snake pics from the Fabulas classes...I think the Medusa by Pashur and the coiled snake by Lucie, if I remember correctly...
Re: Show us ya snake!!
cc, those snakes by Lucie & Pashur are so cool! I love how the tail is going in & out of the nose(Grosssss )
Re: Show us ya snake!!
The coiled snake in and out - so cool!
MommysLittleMonsters - I like the embellishments in the curves - it gives the design a nice sense of movement.

I know, Pashur went all out on the Medusa for her class. I really like the one he taught in mine because it's quick, but I'm definitely bribing someone to be my model so I can try out his other!
Re: Show us ya snake!!
I like the one you did, Cheryl. It's more practical for every day use. And you did a great job with it!!
