Just wanted to try it out before I buy a "real" kit. Does it work similar to the "real" stuff?

Michael's has a pretty good kit(might be the same one). It's the one I started w/ & I loved it! It does use eucalyptus oil, that can be an allergen, but was fine for us.

My experience with those were that the stain wasn't dark and didn't last very long.

I wouldnt buy it bc you dont know how fresh the powder is and how long it has been sitting around. Fresh henna powder is the key to good stains!

It is probably fine for practicing on paper or fine for henna crafts, but I would not use in for henna on skin.

Yeah, I second most of these comments, I wouldn't really bother with it because who knows how long that powder has been sitting around.

I highly recommend www.mehandi.com It's a very informative site, and they have a store where you can get samples of henna and such for REALLY cheap. Smile If you look in the top left corner the "the henna page" link has TONS of information and helpful tips, sample designs and free ebooks.

Not a problem. I LOVE that site. It helped me so much when I was stuck in a rutt after not being able to find good henna.
