Getting into glitter tattoos

Hi guys,

Glitter tattoos don't seem to be a big thing here in New Zealand - in fact, I'd never heard of them until I joined this forum.

Just wondering, what the approx cost is to get set up to do these nicely and how difficult they are to do? If you were to start again, would you go into glitter tattoos again or pass them by? Are they a popular choice for you?

I love glitter tattoos- I am building a lot of business on them> like anything it takes time to build a good kit I have about 100 stencilsto choose from when I work

I use them as an upgrade option to my face painting & market it as a 2nd entertainer(my daughter does the tats). At 1st, when I got them I didn't know what to do w/ them, but now, they've been a plus, especially at pool parties.

LOVE glitter tattoos! I include them in the price of a 2-hour party... I do the face painting, and my daughter does the glitter tats. That way, the kids don't get impatient waiting in a long line... they can get a glitter tat if the line is too long for the face painting, etc. Plus, right now with the heat and humidity, I'm pushing doing ONLY glitter tat parties since the face painting just sweats right off before the kid is even out of the chair! LOL

I bought my stuff at amerikanbodyart.com and you can buy wholesale there if your order is $200 or more (if I remember correctly)... so that's what I spent to get started. I think I've only had to make one other order since then, but I am getting low on some kinds of stencils so I'll probably be making another order soon. We charge $6 for one or 2 for $10 at festivals and people just rave over them. They're so new here that we really had to market them by putting them on ourselves and showing people the benefits of them over face paint, and now they're selling themselves

fantastic, thanks guys - i've noticed some comments that they can be hard to apply... you don't find this once you get the hang of it?
