Costume/Face Paint for glasses
A know a lot of you wear a costume to match the party theme or have some sort of uniform. My question is I wear glasses, I'm getting contacts soon but I still would like to do something fun with my face and hair. Any ideas? My uniform is pretty basic, a solid colored polo shirt and jeans. Thanks in advance.

I keep designs mostly down on my cheeks for that... like eye designs that go down instead of up. I wear contacts usually, but sunglasses outside or sometimes glasses, and I have bangs. You could even do a neck/necklace design, but it's super hard to do that on yourself.

I wear glasses & have the hardest time w/ contacts. The only area my glasses contact skin is the nose area. I make sure that no paint is on that area or under it(if I get the nose slide w/ my glasses). I make sure it's a pretty bold design that shows up well. Of course, my glasses often come off when I paint because I see close-up better w/o them.

Here's my suggestion: This design style which incorporates the brow and temples works great with glasses. I just went our guild this week and the design i did on someone with glasses sat well above the glasses. I love these swans but other stuff like fairy designs and butterflies work well.
Side note: Some folks were surprised to see that I used my 3/4 brush to load 2 colors on one side and 2 OTHER colors on the opposite side. It speeds things up dramatically: just tap the colors on across the top (purple and pink in swan photo) then flip and tap the colors across below the first set (yellow and pale green).

I wear glasses (I'm often too poor to buy contacts...lol) but I just do bright colors for my eye shadows and a little clear glitter on my cheek bones. I usually wear fun hair accessories like a headband with feathers or sparkly jewels. Just have fun with it!

I wear glasses too, and got contacts.. and they made my life SO much easier. I do dress in full fairy costume usually, and it just completes my costume, and makes my own face paint easier to see. The only problem is in Australia after 2hr gig concentrating they can dry up, which is fine when you have eye drops.. but not when you are wearing face paint!! (as it runs)

I can't wear contacts, due to my slightly dry eyes and astigmatism, they spin constantly and I can't see a thing for a full second after every blink :S
No problems with my makeup and glasses here.

I wear cheap readers that you get at the drug store or walmart and decorate the daylights out of them. jewels, glitter, feathers, whatever doesn't get in my field of sight. I have 4 different pairs that I take with me to events, one pair are sunglasses (found those on the ABC distributor site) and the kids love them. I'll wear one pair up in my hair, one pair tucked into my apron, one pair on my nose, and I always make a big deal out of locating my glasses, and when I put them on, I jump and exclaim, "OH MY... WHERE'D YOU COME FROM," or "NOW I can see those pretty eyes" or some other little statement, and it gets them tickled. they can also see their reflection in the lens of the sunglasses, and they like watching while I paint. They'll sit more still when they can see what I'm doing.

If you want to do something fun with your hair, buy some colorful clip in hair extensions online or from claires and clip them in, they have some great pink, purple rainbow ones that just say "I'm fun" when you put them in!
