Actually, good, fresh henna powder is nice and green, so fresh paste should be fairly green as well. The only reason it should have a different color is if you mix dark liquids into it, like tea or coffee.
If it is too bright green, your paste probably has not been left to rest long enough for full dye release to take place.
Once the paste starts to get too much of a brown, reddish, or orangy coloration to the liquids, then it is getting old and headed downhill.

Yes, the green henna stains orange.
All fresh henna powder should be nice and green.
Good, fresh henna paste should be greenish brown, unless some darker liquid was added to make it darker. Even in that case, you should still see a slight greenish color to it.

My henna was actually pretty old(a day or too & had been refrozen). I was surprised how well it stained. I had some left over from when my daughter was doing henna at an adult birthday party.

haha I'm gonna have to agree with the comment about baby diapers...I see this from my little Jayla sometimes LOL! The design is definitely awesome.

Too bad there isn't a camera out there that captures exactly what we see exactly as we see it 100% of the time. I have such a hard time getting the glitter & mica tattoos on camera--they always look way better in person.

At my sons dance, they do the Nutcracker every year. The director has a no glitter rule because one year a whole group of girls glitter gelled their eye lids. Under the house lights they all looked like they had soaking wet eyes.... not the effect they were looking for:-)

Psalmbook...henna last a long time in the freezer.

The "practice" henna I sent you was from 2006 and has been in the freezer. It *still* stains and the powder is still delightfully green and fresh smelling.

Once made the paste will keep in the fridge, and still stain, for about a week though I've had one last two weeks (I still keep any extra and use it for practice or canvas work). Once made it keeps in the freezer for months. It's one of the reasons I love it so. The versatility is incredible!

All I know is the smell was delightful when I opened the package. I love the smell & the smell of the oils. I need t make another batch soon, but I think I want to change to cones. The bottles hurt my hands.

Very cool!
I watched Lost the 1st season, but "lost" track of it after that. I plan to rent it when it's all done so I don't have to have long breaks. That's how I got into 24 & Stargate. I also watched Firefly that way, but soooo wish it'd lasted longer!

I wish I could say it was my own design, but I swiped it off a car decal I saw on a car parked out front of my office....I'm glad the owner didn't see me rubbing a pencil across the piece of paper I had over it to copy the design.......HAHA!~

I must have a memory card, because i can save my photos that I take with my phone. I just can't email them any where or plug in to download them. I CAN send them via text messages though.

(don't ask me how long it took me to realize I had to SAVE them to keep them)

If you have a card reader on your computer or printer, you can just pop out your memory card and pop it into the reader. You can also get portable multi-card readers pretty cheap.

LOL, Linda... It must be a Linda thing... I'm very technically challenged(I'm a Linda also).

BTW all, tomorrow is the last day to submit a tribal henna design. Then someone less technically challenged will need to do the poll... please.....

If your phone has bluetooth capacity you can go to cvs or whatever and "send" your images to the kiosk when you are there and Print or if you have verizon you can send it to your online gallery OR send it to someone who has interenet access and then can then email it to you....Smile
