Contract Pricing for multiple weekends Empty Contract Pricing for multiple weekends

So A resort contact me wanting to book every weekend during the summer.... YIKES... and ... YIPEEEE!

So how do I charge them for this? I dont think they would go for my regular hourly rate, but what kind of discount should I give them???

Has anyone here been hired for anything like this? What was your quote for this type of thing? Did they hire you??

I love the idea of a steady job every weekend, but I dont want to quote tooo high and not get it, nor do I want to quote too low and miss out on other opportunities due to this one.

help!

Congratulations! I actually pay for a space at my local farmer's market all summer to charge per face and do balloons. But I'd probably think of it the same way as doing restaurant work... it'll be awesome exposure for you as well as regular money. How many hours do they want you for each week? I might go as low as half price for that kind of opportunity and security, but will you still have time to take other work? Would half price for the hours they want you be enough income that you wouldn't mind missing out on other work?

Awesome!!!

I'm so jealous I could spit Razz

I would ask them what their budget is to get an idea and then work from there.

Yippee!!!

Also, maybe look at years past and how may jobs you'll miss due to a weekend steady. It'll give you an earning potential to compare it to.

It actually happens a lot. Now's the time to follow up anyway. Thank them for considering you, send them some pictures of your work, and let them know that you would love to be considered for other events. It may be that they (the person hired) worked with them before or their price was just that low, at least it fit within their budget. See if you can find out how much the other person charged if you can.

Anyway, wasn't it a thrill to even be considered for the job. Wow! All those things you had to think about. The butterflies in the pit of your stomach, the high. Wishing you lots more of the same with jobs attached.

When I worked at the races (horse) every weekend through the summer I gave them a sliding scale and a slight discount for CASH payment.

When they changed management and wanted me to submit invoices and WAIT for payment I told them they would have to pay my usual rates... they kept paying cash.

The sliding scale I offered them was a discount of 10% on the first hour, 20% on the second hour and 35% on the third hour on each night.

I worked that gig every summer for about seven years... then they built a brand new casino out there and stopped running "family nights"... bummer.
