Review Proaiir Hybrid Empty Review Proaiir Hybrid

I just got a bunch of these, and thought I would share my INITIAL reviews- and then share a follow-up down the road as I use them more.

Note- if anything I was biased AGAINST this product as I was not wild about an earlier version of it I was exposed to during development a while back.

I got a basic set of the colors and the black and white dips and I am using an airbrush, though on the Proaiir site, they show how to use them with sponges and brushes, which means- although you'll have to learn some new techniques- you don't HAVE to have airbrushes to use them.

The main selling features of this product is that it is water resistant. (In addition to being FDA compliant, certified safe, etc etc etc)

So, first, I called Proaiir because I needed product by a certain time and wanted to check their stock levels since it is right after Halloween. Donna from Proaiir was the one who answered and she was very helpful and we had a nice chat about the product and so on.

So, I got them, in like 2 days. My initial reaction is, these paints are pretty awesome- and live up to all advertising claims made. With my air brush, at low pressure I was able to get terrific coverage AND also do fine lines.

The color selection was wide enough and varied enough to be good for most face painting and effects and the colors are very nice and vibrant. A few drops of color covered roughly one side of my face so a little goes a long way.

The Dips, which are the same product only thicker, are for line work and they are AMAZING! I'd like to see those available in larger sizes.

In terms of water resistance. I ran them under the tap for several seconds. Nothing moved. I blotted with paper towel (Been told NOT to rub them) and they looked just as they did before. Later, so see, I wet them again and rubbed- there was a little color smear but nothing to make much notice of. I wore the paint all night, and in the AM looked just as good. Rubbed it more, a little came off from the abrasion.

When it was time to remove, I did as instructed- soap it up, lather it around and it washed off with ease. No stains.

So, overall- my initial reaction is, these are really nice paints that do what they say. I also like the fact that Donna worked on methods so they could be used by those who do NOT airbrush. If having something water resistant is desirable for you- this is a good product and the cost is below other things that are similar.

There might be a TINY learning curve with these--- but really, not THAT much.

Good review! (We used this for Haunt this year and the actors much preferred it to Mehron w/sealer).

You can also customize colors by mixing.

They dry faster than the "Vibe" I am told.

It does not have the "sheen" Endura has, looks very matte, but is more removable (Also manufactured here in the US. (If that is important to you.)

I used them with my ZeroG2 & another AB artist used his Iwata. (We together used MUCH less than a 3rd artist did with Mehron as that was what she was set up with & no time to switch her out)

I love ProAiir.
I painted 9 Smurfs for Fantasy Fest 2014.
This took place in the Florida Keys.
It was humid.
It was raining.
My Smurfs were sweating.
I mixed Flo Blue with Electric Blue and added a little Blue to create a Smurftastic Blue.

Papa Smurf came by the next day to tip me... and tell me that the paint washed off beautifully with soap first, then water. Papa Smurf said that there were other Smurfs at the parade... and that he felt THEY were the BEST Smurfs. He said that their paint was evenly opaque, and, it lasted.

Thank you, ProAiir!

Dear Forest-Fairy:
I love ProAiir.
If I had it to begin to purchase all over again....
Plumberry is a much better purple than... Purple!
I would not have purchased the light blue, as I can create that easily with the Blue and the White. I would have purchased the 8oz sizes instead of the 2oz sizes. I had no idea how much I would use these. I seem to get more calls for body painting lately (I am assuming it is because of 'Skin Wars' that body painting is coming to the consciousness of people.)
I can see an application for pool parties, along with Dips.

Happy Painting!

I don't airbrush, I use them a lot with the sponges, for pool parties half faces most the times. I didn't have a good experience using them with the sponge for a full face on halloween, had a hard time getting a even coverage, they flake and when I tried to retouch patches they lift the paint under, I had to go back to starblends with sealer for my private halloween zombies.

Luz they lifted and flaked away because the sponge application is too thick keep in mind these pants are meant to be applied in an extremely then layer with an airbrush. the same thing happens when I apply too much or too thick a layer of my other airbrush paints.
