HI,
there seems to be an onslaught of new paint brands the last year, with Chameleon, global, ruby red, and then party explosion and superstar making themselves also available here, do you have any opinions?
Ive tried chameleon and, like them, but so far no brands can beat Kryolan, what say you my painty friends?

I have tried and liked Cameleon white for line work.
I like Kryaline for bases.
I have had Global and Ruby Red sent to my relatives in the US, and I will get it in two weeks.
I will let you know when I receive my paint!

Thanks Lisa,
I have heard good things about Chameleon white, and since wolfe seems to be going goop lately its apparently a good alternative?

I like Cameleon White.
It is not as good as the old Wolfe White,
and that is okay…
because Wolfe White is not as good as the old Wolfe White.

I have tried Global and really like it. Some of the colors, (especially the magenta, teal, dark blue) are awesome. The white is great for line work. I've heard that they are still working on the black because right now it looks like more of a charcoal grey than black, so I'm not very impressed with that. The UV colors are amazing!! I did a glow party with them couldn't believe how cool they looked.

I'm curious about Ruby Red... I've heard mixed reviews.

I just came from Zombillies where Marcla Murad painted with Madelyn Greco. Marcela said she came away with a whole new found respect for Kryolan....and renewed love. Kryolan is great makeup, rich colors, consistent and proven quality. I say one can not go wrong with Kryolan.

When I first began to face paint at SickKids Hospital 16 years ago, Kryolan donated palettes of their AquaColour for us to use. Then, when MAC donated 36 90g cakes, the transition was wonderful… because MAC was Kryolan.
Four years ago, I discovered Wolfe, and there was nothing like the opacity and coverage of the Wolfe White and Wolfe Black.
Now, Wolfe is not the same, so I am exploring other brands.
I love Kryolan for the opacity, and rich saturation of colour. This will always be a staple in my kit.
Thank you for reminding me, Sweet Loretta!

xoxo

I want to keep tabs on this thread, because I am very curious to hear real world opinion on the newer paints out there.
I have on Chameleon that someone gave me, Marshmallow. It's a gorgeous pink and you can do beautiful line work with it.
Nice to hear Global white does a nice job, because I haven't been happy with my wolfe recently.

And Kryolan. That is one I haven't used, but I always browse through the colors when shopping for other things. How does it hold up in heat? I know it is softer, like Paradise.

Kryolan is the amaze.
I still use Wolfe white and black. I find their opacity is really good, but for black bases I use Paradise because Wolfe stains. Kryolan black and white actually kind of sucks now that I think about it. Their white is passable for bases and blending but their black is awful in the heat.
However their other colors are still the amaze.

I bought a bunch of chameleon and really like all of it. I don't have white for line work yet (I split the one I bought to make rainbow cakes) but do have the velvet black and it works great. Will be switching to the white soon (Using up the rest of my DFX white). I personally like the fact that Chameleon doesn't have fragrance, parabens(sp?),  extra preservatives or drying agents.  I have really sensitive skin and to me, less ingredients means less opportunity for possible reactions.
