TAG YOU ARE IT march/april 2014

ok I tried to turn this picture right side up 3 times. I am done trying! So everyone will have to stand on their heads to see it. It's pretty awful, now that I see it, but I wanted to do something quick & tag the next artist. I am off to another tourney.

This is the premise of "Tag, You're It:" The person before you on the list sends you a PM telling you what they want you to paint...and you have two days to come up with it and post it.

We have two teams.
~ When you are done your painting, tag the next person in your team
~IF you want to play, just add your name to the bottom to one of the teams list (you don't have to ask to join) then repost the list with your name added.
~When you are tagged, you have 2 days to complete your design...if we don't hear from you, it goes to the next person on the list. (Your turn is forfeited and if you want to try again, you need to put your name on the bottom of one of the lists)
~When you complete your tag, remove your name from the list, PM the next person on the list with their assignment; you should also put the info in the thread so others know who's been tagged and what they are to paint.)

Please post your name as it appears under your avatar...if you shorten it, especially if you are new, by the time we get to your name we may not be able to find you on the memberlist if it is not EXACT!

I want to mix it up a bit because I want to tag different people and be tagged by different artists. So I put my name at the bottom again under sammy. I LOVE sammy's tag ideas, and I know codegirl loves mine so I'm opting to wait one person longer to change up the order. I just can't get excited about tags 'wedding' and 'prayer' with out turning them into something unexpected because i'm not a wedding or religious person. I like painting the unexpected but it takes time to plan and execute the idea. :/ I made several drawings of the red wedding before finally painting it. With busy season fast appouching I just need ideas more my style to paint them quicker. Like star wars, oh I WISH that was my tag, I'm SUCH a huge star wars geek, I even offer star wars themed costumes at parties and have two expensive light saber replicas. >.< AND i get the May 4th joke. May the 4th be with you! lol . Also building storm trooper armor for my BF so he can join the 501st Legion. Feel free to yell 'Nerrrrrrrrrd' now.

I see what you are trying to explain, but on the other hand, being tagged with something out of your comfort zone, is part of the game.

I agree with Lizzie, that is what the game is all about... Paint with what you get assigned... If you don't have the time, pass it on to the next or it will get passed on if we don't hear from you....

The game is all about doing challenging things....

Here's my submission for the tag "hummingbird"
It was a lot more detailed before my daughter stubbed her toe to go outside and take pictures.  When she realized that her tears messed up the paint a bit she had a full on melt down.  It was all good when I convinced her I could fix it though.  My motto is "we can always add more paint!"



Now the hard part.... figuring out what to tag next!

I agree with both Ella and L!zzie!
I remember once being on the verge of giving up my turn, thanks to the encouragement and the reminder of all the these wondeful artists on the reasons why we are in this game, i was able to paint something out of my comfort zone and never even dreamed of!

Well i agree with... ME lol. Because I'm the authority on how I feel and how I would like to play.

Trust me I love a challenge, but I was trying to explain that I just don't have the time. As much as I love turning themes like wedding into a gore fest, and was going to turn Prayer into a pagan/druid ceremony design. I just don't have the time or energy, and honestly would rather have tags where I don't have to spend to much time and energy to think about how to make them interesting and appealing to me. Besides there is nothing wrong with switching things up I think. And I do wish it was more random so we didn't have to get our tag from the same person every time. :/

For those who are interested, I started a new thread called "SPEED TAG: A new game to try". Just a thought for those who want to paint challenges a little bit more often!
